They made out it was a marksman in the chopper who shot CAM rather than Sherlock.

They added a laser sighting on his face, and a gunshot to make it look like he was killed before Sherlock raised his gun.

They seem to be avoiding the pitfall of last season by cutting all the cute crap and getting on with the case.
