A little clarity, please, Linda

I've been a little torn on the Jim/Linda debate - given the man's history; but one thing struck me both about the incident in the bedroom and the earlier one in the living room.

When Linda said that Kirsty Allsop (sp?) wasn't nice to her, she didn't expand on it at all. It was very vague. There didn't seem to be a point to the story.

Secondly, when Jim asked her what he had done to upset her, the only thing I heard her say was that he talked over her. I know that can be rude and I do it myself sometimes I think it comes from being a member of a large family. Come to think of it, there must have been a fair old hum of conversation around the Nolan's childhood dinner table. But she had mentioned this before and seemed to be taking it lightly.

Now, I know the editing is a frustration in this; but in these two clear examples she had opportunity to expand on both her issue with Kirsty and with Jim. And she didn't. It just strikes me as odd.

Please don't pile in and call her a bitter old hag or wtte. I don't think she is and I have liked her more than disliked her so far; I just can't make out what's going on with her.

Didn't she say that Jim had talked over her about 30 times? When we saw her a couple of days earlier she was obviously frustrated at him talking over her, then talking over her again when she said it was frustrating.

The Kirsty Allsop anecdote looked as if it was part of a 'celebrities I have met and what they were like' conversation. So it didn't really need a point - it was just - she wasn't one of the nice ones.

I can't make her out at the moment either. I'm glad Jim walked away, that was, imo the wisest thing to do.

I do hope she hasn't got an agenda against Jim. Fair enough, they may not like each other, it happens, but I wouldn't like to see either try and score points against each other and drag third parties into their scraps.

Whatever has gone on outside the BB house in the past, should remain there, leave any bad feelings at the door on the way in.

I tend to judge the housemates on their behaviour inside the house and not their past. Otherwise there wouldn't be many housemates I particularly liked from the off lol.

Just my view of course.

Re the Kirsty allsop thing ...it looked to me like he butted in and either stopped the flow of the whole story making it irrelevant or simply made her forget what she was going to say. I don't think it was gonna be an earth shattering revelation - just a little anecdote that was stopped mid flow.

He stopped her mid conversation regarding the Kirstie Alsop story,Jim saying something along the lines of you better be careful she might be coming in here..(and if memory serves me correctly he also said) "You don't like me either". Linda responding by saying "I never said that". It was all very strange.
I think these comments and perhaps some earlier led her into proclaiming her dislike of him to the other hm's. If I have perceived it incorrectly..I apologise. Just how I remember it.

Yes, it was something along the lines of 'you better be careful she may be coming in here, you don't/didn't like me and I'm here'.........something like that. I think he was trying to make a joke of it in all honestly.

When she said it, as far as I can remember, he interjected with 'I know what you're doing' which - come to think of it - is fairly confrontational, if in a subtle way.

I just get the deep sense that there's something going on here that we're not privy to. I wish BB would dedicate a bit more time to this and a little less to the adventures of Nappyman and Lee boy.

I don't think it matters what he did. There was going to be something.

Regardless of what any one's opinion of Jim is, Linda seems to be following exactly the same pattern that Colleen did. Choose the HM that has a perceived public persona and make yourself a victim of them.

After all it worked for Denise Welch.

From a lot of what I have read, Jim's reputation seems to be justification for believing Linda over him. The same happened on here with Colleen and Julie.

The thing is that muddies the waters, regardless of Julie or Jim's reputations, the fact that Linda and Colleen before her have 'feelings' and things they 'can't quite put my finger on' and cite previous events that the other party only vaguely remembers, indicates a pattern and a plan, and that makes them desperate and manipulative. To further their media time they choose the easy target and become the downtrodden.

Boo bliddy hoo.

I tend to agree with you on this one. I just hope Jim keeps his cool and continues to walk away to save any real kerfuffle.

I think he's already clocked what she's at. He can't be unaware of the Colleen and Julie saga, and when Linda started talking about Kisty Allsop Jim remarked that he knew what she was up to. He knows she's going for the sympathy vote using whoever or whatever means available to her. After all what else has she got to appeal to the voters?

I don't think that Jim talking over her was nasty or intentional.
I hate it, but even people I like can do it. It is rude but I don't think that they necessarily mean anything bad by it, or are even aware that they do it.

Perhaps he felt the need to put a stop to a conversation that could potentially damage the reputation of a successful and well-liked woman. It wasn't very classy of Linda to start bitching about Kirstie Allsopp and how horrible she is, when she isn't even there to defend herself.

Bit like on this forum where very silly immature people make wild accusations about people they have never met.

It reminds me a bit of the Michael Madsen and Denise Welch thing where she blew hot and cold and he didn't seem to know what on earth she was playing at.

What comes next? He's ignoring me. She tries to make up with him, then blows hot and cold again. He tries to keep a distance because it seems like the best policy. Then she accuses him of being funny with her.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out and whether it follows previous patterns of housemate clashes on Big Brother.

I love it when I make a valid point, and you Linda worshipers try to shut it down by spouting the same old tripe about how I'm a nasty/insensitive/immature person.

Also when the subject first arose, she said EVERYBODY talks over her, something to do with her age she said, then she made the example of JD talking over her. Clearly being talked over is a bit of a sore point for her, maybe it happens a lot, wonder why?

I've come to the conclusion you and your friends are just trolling me, wanting a reaction. Instead of arguing my point, you turn to personal insults. And you lot call me immature?

Seeing as I started the thread - I'll bite. I've found some of the stuff you've written about Linda absolutely appalling and ridiculously out of proportion to anything she's actually done in the house. You seem to be fixated on calling her as many names as possible. A lot of fms won't warm to that kind of posting.

That's fair enough, I just don't like her. I just don't know why they try to act superior, when they're hurling personal insults themselves. Double-standards.

I Don't like Linda she and Colleen are quite manipulative and I think she has an agenda to take Jim down. So far he is walking away - keep it up Jim she will have her own downfall son

Sadly, I think Linda is a person who bears grudges - anyone whom she perceives to have upset her at some point she just holds on to. she doesn't appear to me to be a person who forgives and forgets which is a shame as I loved Colleen and really wanted to like her sister. She is making that quite hard for me to do but time will tell

I think with the Kirsty Allsopp thing she was about to go on and explain why she didn't like her but either the scene cut off there and they didn't show her explanation or because Jim distracted her and she didn't get to finish her story. I doubt she would have started telling the story if she didn't have a reason for disliking Kirsty. I think the 2nd thing you mentioned she would have explained what she was talking about but Jim walked off so there wasn't any point after that.

true- after she said about him talking over her, he made to walk away
she said "dont you want to hear the rest?", he said "no".

hence the reason why she didnt expand on her reasons for disliking him.
