Jim Davidson Opinions

Day 6 - Jim talks about his bad reputation Quote from Big Brother website. ^8 mins ago Controversial comedian Jim has revealed today that he doesn't believe his time in the House will change the public's perception of him ... Read more Controversial comedian Jim has revealed today that he doesn't believe his time in the House will change the public's perception of him. The statement arose after Casey, who is keen to pursue a career in acting, jokingly pleaded for him to write a comedy play for her to star in. "The last thing you want is to say Jim Davidson wrote this," he replied. "Everyone would go boooo... " Although he's a popular housemate in the House, Jim isn't convinced that he can shake off his bad reputation, sombrely telling Casey, "If I cured racism and aids, and fed the world, I'd still be that (expletive) Jim Davidson" Glamour girl Casey for one doesn't agree, saying "I think everyone's going to see how lovely you are", which seemed to perk him up momentarily. "You're my adopted daughter now," he mused. Ahh, they're just one big happy(ish) family... Has anyones opinions on Jim changed since his entering the house, for me I was expected quite a horrible man considering the press on him but I find he is actually alright while there are still parts I do not like, he admits what type of person he is which makes me like him even more and especially last night with Linda trying to get the girls against him he just walked away when many others would have likely stayed and argued. I think Jim could become the dark horse, not sure he would win but he might get to the final.. Your opinions? |

Legend, always has been. However he does need to start shaking things up a bit.

I've never liked him. I was expecting him to enter the house and start off as a fairly ordinary middle-aged man, and then after a week or so the mask would slip when his patience with the other HMs began to wear thin.
I'm sticking with that. |

I'm finding him ok at the moment. That of course may change. I prefer to judge the housemates from what I see inside the house and not their pasts.
People can change, therefore I always like to give the benefit of the doubt. Until of course, they do something I'm not too keen on.

"Too early to say yet" is the same as saying "No". Either your opinion has changed or it hasn't.

It's the same as saying Yes, but refusing to admit it and hoping something will happen so you can say No.

I think he's not as bad as I imagined he'd be, but then I remember we've only seen 3 episodes out of 3 weeks.

Hated him back in the days when he was meant to be famous, mainly because his TV comedy shows were completely UNfunny. I don't think he's coming across as all that likeable at the moment mainly because he so unpredictable and grumpy. He is suspicious of everyone (possibly a trait caused by his previous addictions) and he is not someone I would choose to spend time with. Maybe Casey sees him as a 'safe' father figure in there. I doubt if she's even seen him before and would have no idea what he's known for. Didn't think all the fake talk about religion was all that convincing. Okay - maybe he overcame his drugs via a religious route which is okay as far as a tool to aid recovery but I don't like born again types who come across as holier than thou.

I voted "Too early" but I'm not really sure which one of these two descriptions I am better suited to. I think he's not as bad as I imagined he'd be, but then I remember we've only seen 3 episodes out of 3 weeks.
Let's say you didn't like him before but do now, the answer is 'yes'. If at a later point you realize he's still unlikeable you'll have changed your mind again, so the answer will still be 'yes'. |

I didn't realise he was a god botherer. That's the main revelation for me so far.

I've always liked him and found him funny. He is human, with human frailties and doesn't hide them like some do. If he gets grumpy, so what, so do I at times. If he has unpopular views, again, so what? He is entitled to his opinions and I often think he says these things to wind people up as much as anything else.

I think is problem was he had dated humer that as time went on became affensive Jim did not catch up so when he was on tv he fell flat on his face I don't truly think it reflected the man he still comes across as a mans man he reminds me a little of my older brother very straight a spades a spade with nothing in the middle
I think he is ok but if thy push his buttons to much he will tell them in no undertone turns it will be how people perseve that that will decide how he will fare in cbb |

Think he has come across as good as anyone. Him and Ollie and Lionel for me are the top 3 at the moment.

Don't mind him, really. He has said and done some stupid things in his life but I can't bring myself to dislike him. I've also read that he has done a lot of charity work but doesn't publicise it widely (unlike some celebs who are often wibbling on about their good deeds for 'chari-dee'). I think he's probably more complex than the stereotype he's created for himself and I did like him when he took over the Generation Game for a stint in the 'Nineties.

I've never liked him & as far as I'm concerned this nice guy we're seeing is all an act.
Maybe if he was younger I'd say he could've changed but imo he's far too long in the tooth to have had any massive change of personality. |
