BIB - That would be a fair point but remember that Luisa's defence of Jim, and subsequent "menopausal" insult/comment occurred the morning after the girls were all huddled on Linda's bed.

Yes, said this in another thread

Something that has just occurred to me about Louisa is she appears a bit of a copy cat come chameleon. When she made the menopausal comment to Jim about Linda I didn't think she actually felt it herself but thought it was something he would appreciate. Also wasn't that what Rihanna called Liz and they had only just heard that story.

Another thing was when Jim called Lee a 'fanny' rat Louisa just nodded in agreement but I can't help thinking that is not a term she is either familiar with or would normally use herself. I'm just wondering if it's a tactic like using someone's name a lot is supposed to ingratiate yourself with them and mirroring body language means you have something in common etc. Maybe she is trying to assimilate with people so as not to be nominated

As it turned out it didn't work but I just wondered.

Here's a thought: maybe Sam and Luisa just don't really like Jim that much and that's why they've nominated him? He does have a tendancy to be abrupt and dismissive so it's reasonable to assume they may also have experienced that from him.

He got 5 nominations. Why not just accept that 5 people find him annoying and stop trying to complicate things unnecessarily by manufactuirng 'dangerous' agendas.”

One admitted she didn't dislike Jim but was nominating him because of Linda, the other said she liked him but thought he wanted to go anyway.....No-one said anything really bad about him.

Jim knows she's a dangerous lady, it's not his ambition to last longer than Linda in the house, his priority is to get his money and never have to clap eyes on her again.

Only he didn't say Jim talked over him, that was Lionel's reason for nominating jasmine.

watch it again, Lionel didn't say that at all.

Funnily Sam said she liked him but was close to linda, and Loisa said she liked him, but he had said many times he wanted to leave....No nastiness in their reasons either.

Classic non-reason by Luisa to nominate Jim
"he wants to go home" (actually Luisa said.. he wants to go hooooome")
not a reason, just a cop out, she knows he might be popular on outside

BIB. Totally agree.
Lionel is another one I see erupting if he's in long enough.

A lot of stuff comes up and I think Linda is carrying a fair bit of anger, she does not seem at peace with herself or her lot.”

What 'age group' contains Linda and not Jim? He is 6 years older than her, said himself that his career is over, and is probably finding it hard to adjust to his lack of attractiveness and fitness. And he does seem quite an angry person, glowering at one person after another. I guess one might say that he is menopausal, though it is not entirely polite imo to speculate about peoples' hormonal state.

Exactly what were these alleged 'lies'? I can't remember any at all. You will have to remind me.

It seems bizarrely hard for some people to accept this very obvious fact. It doesn't fit in with the forum fantasy that Linda is horrible. If people just get on pretty well with her and find her pleasant enough to live with there must be something wrong: she has tricked them or brainwashed them, or some other ridiculous and childish idea.

Really? You have never seen a group of friendly people before who get on better with each other than with another person? That not only suggests that you have never seen Big Brother before, it suggests you have never seen any kind of group at all.

It is also failing to distinguish between what we saw on the highlights and what life in the house is actually like. You are referring to a scene that lasted - what? - five minutes? They have already spent hundreds of hours together. It is wildly unlikely that anyone has made any kind of decision based on part of a single conversation, most of which we did not see.

Since when has the menopause been a character flaw?

The insult is just meant to highlight heightened sensitivity and explosive temperament. It could be used to describe an angry twenty year old and is just vernacular rather than a direct reference to the real medical situation.
