I quite fancy Parks & Recreation which is on there, also Sons of Anarchy...& ooh I've just seen via MoreFlicks that I can apparently watch Downton Abbey on Netflix Canada & Netflix Ireland (never seen it & wondering what all the hype is about)

Chuck is fun, Justified, Breaking Bad, The Glades, Burn Notice, Suits, Dexter, Girl with Tattoo Trilogy in Swedish with English subtitles (very good) The Headhunters (film, again in Swedish with Subtitles), The Killing, The Bridge, The League.

Here's a tip I used when I first got Netflix, head over to IMBD, find a film or programme you like, look towards the bottom of the screen, you'll see "you may also like these" then check if their on Netflix using Moreflicks.

And Don't forget always rate a programme or film, Netflix uses a complex matching system to suggest other films/programmes to you.

I then just made a massive list on Notepad on my iPad.

Justified's very good on uk NF 3 seasons, it's a bit behind channel 5 I think they've just started season 5, but I'm trying to ween off main stream TV/SKY and go all streaming and catch up services over the next few years.

Heroes is quite good if you didn't catch it on BBC 2 and American Horror not bad either if you like that sort of thing.

Also if never seen then I would highly recommend taking a look at 24.

I've just cancelled my full package Sky tv, so I'll be going it with just Sky Freeview, Netflix & the catch up services. I'm only bothered about losing my record facility as I watch next to no live tv.

I'm a big fan of movies like Black Hawk Down & The Hurt Locker so I'll be looking out for movies like that too.

I got rid of Sky. The only thing I miss is being able to record/pause TV.

My advice would be to totally get rid of your Sky box and consider purchasing a Freesat <free time> box for around £200 which has the ability to record, pause, rewind etc for no extra cost, also it has the on-demand catch up players too ie: BBCiPlayer,ITVPlayer,4OD & Demand 5. It also has YouTube and there maybe more to come within the next year too.

Interesting, searching that DNS takes me to Playmo TV.

Free for 7 days it says, if you have free access after the 7 days, good for you but I doubt it will last long, before they block you and force you to pay.

The problem I have is that my broadband is in the hall & my sky is in the lounge. To avoid having Ethernet cables running round all the walls I purchased a sky wireless receiver box thingy.

If I change to the freesat box I'm guessing that the wireless box won't work either?

I'm wondering if I'd be just as well ringing sky & paying them the £10 or whatever it is a month to retain the record, pause facility?

You'd be mad to spend £10 a month just to be able to use something that should be free , the way I see it for 12 months use you found of put £120 towards a new HDR that doesn't cost more to use basic functions.
The Humax HDR-1000s(Black) you can use a WIfi dongle, however the Humax HDR-1010s(White) has Wifi built in.

I've just tried to watch Netflix via my Apple TV & got the message 'Netflix is unavailable. Try again later'

Is that anything I should worry about re my unblock us or is Netflix genuinely down?

Have to gone to unblock-us site to check your service? Sometimes if you get these issues you need to visit the site as occasionally your IP address changes which their server doesn't recognise.
If you have a smartphone you can check it via the following link which is also the region picker http://m.unblock-us.com/
You don't have to set phone up with the DNS(even though it does give a prompt), but it does come in handy to reset service and change regions.

That was it! Apparently my IP address changes frequently. I assume that's a BT Infinity 'thing'. It was working on my ipad which I could flick across to my tv but strangely it's still uk Netflix on my ipad

I just updated my Internet address on unblock us & ta da it's now working on my Apple TV again. Thanks for that

For it to show different region on iPad you need to add the DNS numbers to the WiFi settings of the iPad, also when you change region you need to log out of the Netflix app and then log back in again.(it used to only require closing the app, but recently having to log out has been needed)
The reason the IP address changes is because you have a Dynamic IP which can randomly change now and then.

Tried the free trial of unblock a few months ago, worked well on my PS3 but for some reason my Laptop suddenly started reporting that the version of windows I was running was NOT genuine!

So, is it ok to leave my ipad as it is & carry on having the uk version on there & utilising the airplay function?

That is the DNS for Netflix US I use it on my WDTV live no need for unblock us,strange how it comes up as playmo for you.

It's not that strange as those DNS numbers belong to Playmo.
Anyhow US Netflix isn't all that to be honest, other regions are so much better.
