Hi all

Adding to this thread rather than starting a new one, I have just signed up fro Netflix and already have smart DNS from overplay. Last night I watched a programme on the UK version of NF on my PS3 and when it finished I decided I to check out the US version, I had already changed my DNS and confirmed it with the overplay site that it was working and changed the region to US however i could not get NF to load, i kept getting the following errors:

UI-800-3 or UI-113

Question is do i need to sign out each time i want to change regions, all i did was finish watching the programme and quit the application, changed the region on the overplay site then reopened the app on the PS3, also do i need to be signed into the PSN with a US account or does that not matter?

It's well worth doing, as then NF will suggest programmes and films based on your viewing tastes.”

Nope... I don't seem to have anyway of actually rating stuff ... I wonder if its something to do with the LG app

@Kingsd316, I don't use Overplay myself but I assume it's the same as Unblock Us. Have yo checked the DNS settings on the PS3 are correct and the ones given to you by Overplay? Is your Overplay account current?

@Justabloke, it could be, but seems doubtful as that is the whole Netflx thing, in recommending you titles to watch based on your ratings. Do you see the "add to my list" and "other" features when selecting your programe.

You would be best to contact Overplay support about this, they will be familiar with it and will have many different suggestions as a solution for you.

Sorry was suppose to come back with the solution, there was nothing wrong with my set up, it was my own fault as i was logged in on my mobile to the UK store and when i tried to access the US store on the PS3 this was causing the problem, after logging out on my phone all is well.

I've just started using Media Hint on the PC and it's working fine.

Best thing about US Netflix?

FUTURAMA!

Yeah, I've just switched my old PS3 to US and found Futurama. Sky treated it so badly, lots of new episodes not seen.

I love it that they have Mystery Science Theatre 3000, quite a few films as well. Shame only one series of The Venture Bros thought.....

Hi, I have a PS3 and used to be able to switch back and forth between UK and US Netflix, but it no longer works. I've tried inputting different DNS numbers and sometimes the connection seems to work but then when I go back to US Netflix it says there's a problem. Can anyone help?

I do on the UK site.. don't on the US site.
TBF though its has been pretty good at recommendations based upon the stuff I watch so I'm not that bothered it would just be nice if I could.

You may want to have a read through this link from unblockus about this PS3 issue.

My PC says that's a dodgy link. I know the site you mean though as I read it earlier today. Do I have to have an account with unblock us before I try the DNS settings?

There's nothing wrong with the link and is worth a read as it does explain the issue with the PS3 and changing regions, but whatever you do you still may not be able to resolve this issue due to the way the PS3 Netflix app works.
In that link is does gve possible solutions which may work, but nothing's garuanteed.

“Solutions For Those Having Region Issues With PS3 and Netflix
Last Updated: Jan 08, 2014 06:02PM EST
As you will know Netflix have been carrying out some testing to find the fastest path to stream their content to the PS3. This is understandable with their business being dependant on speed, which obviously makes this very important. From our end, it is clear that they are cross checking a few DNS, discarding the slowest, and picking the fastest. We know that our DNS is not going to be the fastest every time, which is why the problem can seem to go away, but then reappear.
This has resulted in a number of PS3 users being unable to switch Netflix regions on the PS3, or people receiving various aip or ui errors.
It is important to point out that this issue is only affecting Netflix on the PS3, so our service is still working on all other devices and for all other services we support. This is not a fault with our service, but something that has been implemented by Netflix and/or Sony.

Before we get to the drastic step of changing the configuration of your router - there are a few things you can try first.
Make sure that you have checked your service status.
Hold start and select whist the Netflix app loads on your PS3. This will force you to log back into your Netflix account.
Deactivate Netflix across all of your devices . This doesn’t always work on the PS3 though, so make sure you use the hidden PS3 menu to log out.
If none of the above steps work, then the only way to fix this is to make some changes to your router settings, however this is not possible on every router, as some may lack the “static routing” (or similar) functionality, which is what is needed to fix this issue, or some may be ‘locked down’ by your ISP.
We have been working very hard to try to come up with solutions for as many different routers as we can, however, it has now become impossible for us to continue trying to fix every single router make and model and firmware version, as this is now taking us away from the day to day issues that we have to address to keep bringing the best possible service we can to you, our subscribers.
It is for this reason we have had to make the difficult decision to stop trying to create fixes for routers other than the ones that are listed below.
If you feel confident enough to fix your own router you may want to take a look at the technical guide that we have put together.
Netflix on the PS3: Linksys Router Guide
Netflix on the PS3: Linksys Combo Router Guide
Netflix on the PS3: Netgear Router Guide
Netflix on the PS3: D-Link Router Guide
Netflix on the PS3: TRENDnet Router Guide
Netflix on the PS3: TP-Link Router Guide
Netflix on the PS3: DD-WRT Router Guide
Netflix on the PS3: Asus Router Guide
Netflix on the PS3: Belkin Router Guide
Netflix on the PS3: Actiontec r1000h Router Guide
Netflix on the PS3: Siemans Speedstream 6520 Router Guide
Netflix on the PS3: Actiontec v1000h Router Guide
Netflix on the PS3: Bell 2wire 2700HG Router Guide
Netflix on the PS3: Virgin Media Superhub
You must then set up your PS3 AFTER router has been setup
If your router isn’t listed above we haven’t been able to test it. We cannot say for certain whether you will be able to use our service with Netflix on the PS3. If your router doesn’t support certain advanced features you will not be able to use our service on your PS3 (for Netflix) as you will be unable to switch regions, and you may be receiving constant error messages.
In these cases there is nothing we can do - but if you have our DNS setup on your router, please set your PS3 up according to the instructions above and see how you get on. You may find that the first few attempts do not work - then it will. However, this isn’t a 100% solution. The only real solution would be to replace your router with one of the ones listed above.
We are very sorry that there is not a fix available for everyone, but this problem has not been created by us, and we have attempted to help as many of our subscribers as we can but unfortunately we cannot offer support for Netflix on the PS3 for any routers other than those listed.
We also have a list of routers that we know can not be fixed, so if you are considering a new router you may want to avoid those.
We will of course keep you updated if the situation changes as we know that just because testing is taking place now it does not mean that the changes will be rolled out across the board.”

Yes just go to Unblock-Us and follow the How To Setup for the PS4.

I use Unlocator with my PS3 and works fine with switching between countries. Just can't get Mexico but no big deal.

Hi

Whats the advantage of having and paying for a US-Unblock account? I've found DNS Settings online that work and convert my UK Netflix to US Netflix. so why would I consider paying to have a US Unblock account?

Thanks

Baz

^^ Unblock is a totally secure service, if your happy letting your data loose on the internet, then all's good. Plus we get the other NF regions too, not just US, and while your DNS is working now, they may not tomorrow, next week etc. It's possible for me to give you my settings and you may be able to use them for awhile, Un block will see you using them, and stop your access, as your not paying for them.

Quick bump to ask a question:

If I cancel my current Netflix account which is on Netflix UK, then rejoin and pay the monthly fee by using a different email on US Netflix, will 'My List' be enabled in the US or the UK?
Philip Wales

Your list is only on your home Netflix, the one you initially subscribed too. How are you going to subscribe to the US one and why? If your able to use the US one through a DNS service, why not just keep the UK one.
