Elonex eTouch 1000ET

Hi All

Happy New Year

Can anyone help with this issue.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I have a problem with my Elonex eTouch Tablet (1000ET). The problem is that when I switch it on, it loads the splash screen, displays an Android icon in the top left hand corner for about a few seconds then displays the word ANDROID and proceeds to stay there not moving.

I have tried to undertake a Reset on the device without much success. I have tried to flash the firmware using a USB cable from the tablets OTG port to a spare USB socket on my PC, downloading the relevant zip files to my computer and following the instructions that I have downloaded from the Internet.

These are the steps I have followed but somewhere in the steps I have gone wrong (Please can you help)

1. Plugged one end of the USB into the tablet and other end into a spare USB port in my computer, also plugging in the power supply to the tablet. I switched it on and whilst holding the power buttin down I pressed the back button (this displayed some path at bootup

2. This detected the tablet and installed the necessary drivers to my computer. (Doesn't show any device in My Computer - where the drives are!) but it is listed under Device Manager as ADB Interface - HTC Desire. (it makes a connect sound then a disconnect sound)

3. Downloaded the following files to my PC (Download 1000ET Firmware Upgrade Procedure v1.03 & Download 1000ET Firmware v1.03u Files (79Mb)

4. I went to the burntool.exe and it displayed (Device 10) and when I clicked Start I receive the error

"Configure file: burn.ini FileLoad Faile or not exist, use default configure!"

I am unable to click the Settings tab as it requires a password which I don't know.

I presume I have followed the instructions correctly but I am not sure. Can you tell me where I am going wrong. or if I have missed a step it would be helpful if you could tell me what step.

A reply to this Email would be appreciated in order for me to fix this problem. A quick response to this message would be appreciated.

Yours Sincerely
cmorris

Seriously? You've just copy and pasted a support email that has been sent to you?

You should at least tell folk on here who don't know you that you run an IT support/training business but repeatedly get free assistance from DS users so folk know the whole story...
