I switched on my 2000t tonight and there was no sound! ! Nothing was on mute and the sound worked going through the tv tuner. Had to unplug it and lose the recording I was in the middle of.
I checked online and it seems to have happened to others. There was no solution except to unplug. Not happy about this as my 9150 has never lost sound.
Anyone else had this problem?

I don't have a HDR200OT. I suspect you were recording a HD channel at the time and the issue is related to the way your TV handles Dolby Digital audio. This would not have been an issue with your older SD box as only the Freeview-HD channels use the more advanced audio codec (actually the sound is aac but the box converts to Dolby Digital on output). In the box TV setup TV option change the digital audio output from surround to stereo )I am guessing the option will be the same as the earlier HDR FOX T2)

If it was SD channel then not sure why, still worth trying the above though.

One of the first things I did when I got the box was to change to stereo, after reading comments from the forums. And I was recording an sd channel. But I had been recording hd channels last night when I was out, so maybe it happened then?
But thanks for the advice. Hopefully it won't happen again, but I would be annoyed to lose a recording, or to not be able to use the box until the recording had finished.
Don't trust it now.

Sorry not having the box can't comment much further. Had you not had the video as well it would point to hdmi handshake issues. Do you have a scart connection as well to your TV or anything else ? If so did that retain the sound, if not can you add one. It may well avoid having to abort a recording.

I've got my 9150 on the scart as I've got programmes still to watch

I've had no trouble recording 5.1 sound on my 2000t, or indeed, any other audio problems except once. I was watching (live) the same film on the Foxt2 and the 2000t, alternating them through my A/V amp. to try to compare P/Q between the two, when I noticed that the Fox was reproducing 5.1 but the 2000t was outputting stereo. It took several minutes before I discovered that I'd accidentally pressed the dedicated AD button on the remote. This gives an intriguing selection of options, none of which are "cancel" or "off" or anything obvious. By trial and error, the setting labelled "English(eng)" restored the 5.1 output. Whatever it was set on before this didn't result in an AD output but did activate the volume control on the remote (normally muted) so I assume the AD track volume can be independently adjusted. This AD button is a little too vulnerable as it's on the extreme lower right corner, just where it can get trapped by the sofa cushions!
I suppose I should reread the manual to prevent further surprises.

It's done it again. I've emailed humax. If it's a faulty machine then why has it only done it twice? I'll wait to see what they say.

Using the scart temporarily, even for just a minute, may shed some light in what is going wrong.

The 9150T has scart pass through from the VCR scart to the TV scart. You could connect the HDR-2000T to the 9150T without any disruption to the 9150T ability to display on your TV via scart.
Make sure that the 9150T’s VCR scart (top) is connected to the TV and then connect the HDR-2000T’s scart to the remaining scart (bottom) on the 9150T.

I can see it's just a typo Luis but for clarification that should read TV scart.

Also ensure either the 9150T is in standby with the Power Saving in Standby feature disabled or if the 9150T is powered up select the SOURCE button to feed the HDR-2000T signal through the 9150T.

Ok developments. I was thinking today about when I turned on the 2000t last night. It takes a while to turn on (just like the 9150 did) so I would usually turn it on and wait a bit before I turned the tv on. I did this yesterday, which I haven't been doing and may have done last week, and no sound. Today I turned the humax on and then straight away the tv -sound.
So I turned them both off and did the delay - no sound
Off again, no delay - sound.
Then I plugged the scart into my 9150 as directed and into the 2000t, did the delay and sound!
Don't really understand it. I've had the tv on before and used the 9150t or my Now TV box, then when I've put the 2000t on later it's been ok. But for some reason putting it on first with a delay knocks the sound out???

Always a safe bet to have the TV ON first, that way it stands a chance of detecting and auto switching to any connected device when that device is switched ON.
