But I can hardly remember anything where Lionel is concerned. I have a vague memory of him being a real shit, and much like how you describe him with the smiling face hiding a quite nasty side, but I don't remember him necessarily being unpopular as a contestant.
In fact I think it was the fact that his smiling showbizzy side was trying to suppress a really grumpy unpleasant side which was quite funny and intriguing.”

I watched the farm too,i cant quite remember but im sure he name dropped (a lot) and was quite nasty.. im sure someone else on the forum will remember.

Agree^^ i think if he is a nasty piece of work the producers will make sure it isnt shown as that wont fit Emma and Rylans "sweet Grandad Lionel" image

It does appear that the new rule is anyone with 2 or more.

I don't know if it's ever been confirmed.

If it hadn't been then Friday's bombshell would have meant no public vote just a straight choice between Liz & Jim for the bolthole couple.

This is the problem with BB, and other reality shows too now.
If they didn't feel that they had to create archetype characters which they intended to portray in the editing before the game even starts, the contestants would be much more interesting to watch.

Lionel has this surface image which can barely contain a more neurotic and not so nice side. You can often see it dying to break out.
I do remember that they showed this on The Farm. But that was quite a few years ago, and modern reality shows appear to be far too engineered and controlled compared to ten years or so ago.

So if BB really have decided to portray Lionel as the kindly grandpa of the house and don't want to deviate from that, well then that's just poor.

I really don't get that.
Because they seem like quite closish mates in there.

Does Lionel want to get rid of the 'Old' competition so he can get the oldie vote?
Or does he genuinely feel that Jim would like to go?”

I guess he feels comfortable nomming him if he thinks he wants to go?

That's such a bullshit reason and should never be permissible IMO

It's early days. We get to see all of their 'real' personas (or realish) if they're in there for any length of time. I guess they're holding back a bit of stuff (the production team) in order to create a bit more drama around it. It's how they operate - they don't show all thir cards too soon.

So, if she got lots of nominations that would prove how disliked she was, and few means how manipulative she is?

Have you any idea of how absurd that is?

No, if she got lots of nominations it would show that her manipulating tactics have indeed failed and that the housemates can see through her... and I would be pleased

If Linda is anywhere near at skilled manipulation as some are claiming she should be running for parliament. She obviously chose the wrong career.

I imagine that it is down to revenue generation. Far more people will vote, especially if they want to see fireworks between Lee and Jasmine.

Not really... Lionel comes from a liberal background and probably has lots of gay friends that would have nothing to do with the odious Jim Davidson
