That article about her mother was sickening, exploitive and shouldn't have been printed. Don't fall for Liz's poor old me act, and I'm saying that as someone who hopes she stays for a while yet.

Luisa is very polarising - a confident, self-made woman is always going to get certain backs up.

Ermmm no I dont think that was all there was to it, we only got a snatch of the convo but a lot more was said than what was aired, maybe Liz was calling her stupid for saying that the coffee would cost £40.

From what I could gather Liz's sole request - for coffee - was being totally dismissed while huge amounts were being spent on meat, which she doesn't eat. That seems pretty annoying to me.
What name??

And yet it us Liz saying nasty things about people with little evidence - and that seems to be job too...

I would hazard a guess that Luisa knows more about figures then Liz , also it's not the other hms fault that Liz won't ( not can't ) eat meat , and I doubt she's the only one that wanted coffee but she said it in such a rude way and then reacted as if she'd said nothing because she was shocked Luisa dared to question her. She's used to writing what she wants about people with no repercussions.

A disproportionate response to being called a "stupid woman"?

You didn't watch the Apprentice then? She bullied another candidate on that show and took over as project manager from him after attacking him and destroying his confidence. It was not pleasant viewing.

Well I agree, its inconsiderate. If you have a vegetarian in the group their needs should be catered for as well.

I would hazard a guess that Luisa knows little about figures if her performance on Apprentice is anything to go by.It seems that being a veggie in BB is like being a second class citizen for some people, I am sure the others wanted coffee but then they also wanted meat and probably tobacco too, we dont know much of the conversation tbh but Liz has not so far been rude to anyone in there while Luisa is always rude and in your face....I hazard a guess that Luisa was just being her normal bullying and controlling self and was surprised that Liz had the temerity to answer back........hence the final harsh putdowns to liz.

It must be hard not being able to understand a lot of what's going on in there, especially in group situations. We know this having had Sam in the house and what he had to say regarding not understanding conversations and what's going on.

I do wonder how aware they all are of Liz being deaf.

I read this interesting article yesterday "Deaf people such as Liz Jones and me want to be included in the conversation"

http://www.theguardian.com/commentis...on-big-brother”

Well, how deaf is Liz? She doesn't seem anywhere near as deaf as Sam.

She's terrible about her mother, really shocking - "Why is she not dead yet?" - but I always said she would be very quiet and mouse-like in real life, and she is.

What I found astonishing in the nominations was the observation that she never asks anyone anything about themselves, and just seems completely uninterested in them. For a journalist, that is surely very odd. For all that Vanessa Feltz is fingernails-down-a-blackboard to me, she did at least behave like a journalist, wanting to know about the other housemates. I suppose it is like her very ill-advised Jo Yates piece, where she was far more concerned that she herself was not allowed to cross a toll bridge without paying than with the actual murder victim.

Severe hearing loss, nothing at all in the upper registers. She wrote about it in the Mail.

As much as I like Liz, I didn't really think it was fair to brand someone a "bully", based on an assumption.

That said, Luisa always goes on about how people are "rude" (with Liz, and with Dappy last night), but she has no problem being rude herself. She hates being on the other end of it. I'd love someone to turn to her in an argument and say "ENGAGE. BRAIN" and see how she reacts.

I think the point was she was offered the instant coffee and she didnt want, she only wanted a particular brand Illey coffee which is quite expensive.

She was offered an alternative in the instant

I found this odd too. I was expecting Liz to find out as much information about everyone as she could so that she can write about it when she comes out. I guess she must write based on her own opinions and not by doing extensive research.

Instant coffee is pretty horrible on the whole though.

Surely they could have reached a compromise and got some filter coffee or something.

I too am struggling to match the timid, insecure seeming woman on BB with the Liz Jones column. I am not an habitual reader but when I want to torture myself I have been known to read it and usually end up with steam coming out of my ears.

And the lack of inquisitiveness is truly bizarre. Carole thingy from the Mirror (The Jade/Shilpa series) interrogated the HM's like the Spanish inquisition. Much more what I expect from a tabloid columnist.

Will the real Liz Jones please stand up?

I meant what is her actual hearing loss, not what she claimed in the Mail which I see little reason to trust.

But is it odd for Liz? Is she even a journalist? The columns of hers I've read don't seem to have much need for facts or for actually knowing about other people.

I don't think it will stop her from writing about it, and in any case she'd have her observations from being in the same house 24/7 for so long. It could even be argued that the things she'd get from asking HMs about themselves aren't all that important for writing about what they were like and did in CBB.

Does she seem to have that sort of inquisitiveness in her column?

Agreed. Liz Jones writes mainly about herself and everything revolves around her and her own little world. She is more of an oddball than I thought she would be.

I wonder is she wearing a hearing aid?

She might be; they can be pretty small. But to the extent that a hearing aid helps, it negates the point that her hearing loss make it hard for her to understand what's going on.

Anyway, she doesn't appear to find things difficult in the way Sam did in bb14, but she may well have enough hearing loss that she finds it difficult to understand some people in a noisy environment.

As I understand it, it wasn't about the cost anyway. Luisa said that there was only instant available so what Liz was asking for was not possible. I got the impression that Liz didn't understand that and thought Louisa was objecting because of the cost.

She thought Luisa was being unreasonably bossy and inflexible when actually there was no alternative and she was just trying to be firm about it and get on with the job.

She is not self-made, she has a millionaire for a husband. He has funded all her little business plans, which, lets face it, before the apprentice, was just a cake shop.
A cake shop that she couldn't be bothered to work in as she employed staff to do it for her, Couldn't even bake on the apprentice!!
