I've noticed a lot of dislike on this forum for strong women like Linda and Luisa because they won't stay in their place and be told what to do.
It happened this summer with Hazel (<3) and Gina (<3) as well , for a woman to be popular on Big Brother she has to be seen as dumb and weak.
Deana , Karissa and Kristina , Makosi , Lydia , the list goes on , a lot of BB fans just like men and silly girls.

Linda is a miserable old toad.
I think that's why folk don't like her.

Luisa I don't mind,I wouldn't trust her for the blink of an eye but she makes for a good HM.

I love strong women but there is hardly a plethora of them.

Linda is not. She is errr, morose and self pitying IMO.

Luisa is possibly strong. She doesnt slag off other women and doesnt rely on men.
Liz is the strongest tho by a country mile.

Jasmine is sharp..... but uses her female wiles.

Liz to me is actually more like a parody of what a strong woman should be like , the woman who has put her career ahead of a husband and family and is miserable because of it , the woman who hates other women , but really she's weak , far weaker then Linda , nothing truly that bad has ever actually happened to Liz , Linda has faced actual struggles.

Liz just wishes she had real problems so she could moan about them .

But it's really Luisa and Jasmine you're describing, isn't it, more than Linda? I half-expected Jasmine to be a flake, like a Heidi Fleiss Jasmine Lennard type of thing, but she isn't showing signs of that. I'm not sure how strong or intelligent Linda is, she's just got the matriarch slot.

The gorgeous Jasmine is of course included as well

I just have a lot of respect for Linda because she's been to hell and back and lived to tell the tale , without really seeming to want sympathy or pity , whereas someone like Liz , nothing that bad has ever happened to her but she want's a constant stream of pity for her horrible lot in life. I respect Linda so much more and that makes her strong to me. Just imo

I agree - those two are definitely what I call strong women. Linda and Liz come across as victimised to some extent. Haven't seen enough of Sam to form an opinion.

Luisa is clearly strong and intelligent , she's had a very successful business career. The fact that she likes to wear skimpy clothes or isn't shy about discussing her sex life doesn't make her a "two bit tart". This is the sort of sexism I'm talking about.

I don't care about them in anyway tbh, but these words "strong and intelligent" get thrown around far too easy these days.

If I had to make a list of who I would class as strong and intelligent women - NO-ONE who has ever stepped foot in CBB would make the grade.

Furthermore just how much of this forum have you scrutinised? Because Luisa particularly has lots of fans on here, some of them are even calling her their queen..

For the same reason some of us can't stand an AJ, a Rylan or a Gina for that matter

It's what women have been trying to sort out for bloody decades now, the right and freedom (from other women, latterly) to be all of those things in turn, if not at once, including a mother. I thought that one line post (#9) about the two bit tart looked everso small-voiced and impotent.

I wonder if some posters actually have any experience of this "won't somebody think of the children" cliche. There was a glamma moggul mum at my kids' school. She was nice. There may have been a bit of bitching between mums behind her back, I didn't see any, and the kids were too busy being kids.

I largely agree with what you say (although we disagree on the specifics). I do not think it's only 'strong women' that are disliked, OR 'dumb weak' ones that are 'popular' although I certainly believe that the BB house is not a level playing field for certain 'types' of women and they have a far smaller margin for error before they become cannon fodder.
Double standards and hypocrisy are rife on these forums at times and it takes a determined poster to try and actually debate this properly without being drowned out or dismissed. (this is not meant to sound patronising I promise, so if it does I apologise).

The only thing I would say is that please don't let your thread get sidetracked or bogged down by the 'jealous' argument when others bring it up (and they will), from either 'side' as this actually detracts from the clear fact that there is bias towards certain types of housemate, and is an easy default fallback for dismissing reasoned debate IMO.

If you took every female poster on this forum OR indeed every woman and man in the population that works in business (from the most lowly to the most mighty), then you could certainly argue she has had (and continues to have) a successful career in business.

Strong, intelligent woman when it comes to BB at least often translates into being a bitch and , shall we say, being a bit loose. This is certainly true in Louisa's case.

Maybe why this is why they are disliked?

I'm 45 and this is very old fashioned to me. A flibbety gibbet of questionable libido you say? Perish and damn the floozy. "Loose" is an ancient enough insult to women to have been used in irony as the title of a daytime TV show involving middle aged women.

I think I fit the criteria as the 'ultimate bitch'.....I'm a great grandmother.

What have I taught them? Nothing that any other self-respecting woman would. I.e. kick a guy to the kerb if you feel your nothing more than a trophy on his arm. And don't ever be that trophy in the first place unless he's begged and pleaded and held a public audition to his friends beforehand. Afterwards, then decide.

In otherwords, wherever you go......be heard about. All news is news and ensure he knows his every move is recorded .

People don't like a woman like Luisa because she proves you can have it all , she is successful and happy , and doesn't give a damn what people think about her. People want career women to be miserable and lonely and young party girls to be vapid , either way people HATE women who are sexually confident , that is the biggest sin of all for a BB woman.
