No - its just wired USB which won't connect to an iPad.

I have to ask this question, but is there a particular use that you feel requires a hard drive to plug into a tablet?

I think there will be cloud-based solutions for what you need.

Yes, there is a use and that will be downloading or transferring via cloud and web use.

On the description it says the following:

Easy computer and iCloud backup via the Seagate Dashboard.

I know that the HDD cannot be connected to the iPad with a USB cable.

The Argos listing says iCloud. The Seagate listing doesn't mention iCloud. I suspect that's someone at Argos mistaking 'Cloud' for 'iCloud'.

I still don't really understand the use you're suggesting. Are you thinking of storing loads of movies or TV shows on the hard drive and transferring them to the iPad, or something else?

The answer to your second question should really have been No.

I am unaware of any wifi hard disks that support ios directly and you would need a NAS setup.

Again what are you trying to achieve?

You can buy wifi hard drives from currys which will allow you to copy media to you iPad and back.

The apple airport drive is a wifi drive, but I've never used it is not sure of its limitations.
