What a sad, sad commentary.

The sad and depressing truth is Females have enabled this behavior from males over the years, in which there is no room or need for change.

Until Females don't accept and tolerate it, there will be no need for these type of males to change, as why would they? If it continues to be okay, continues to work for them, continues to be defended and accepted. They get many girls that get with them, etc.

Saying "he's just a jack the lad", he's "just a red blooded male". How utterly depressing.

It's like they're repeating a brainwashing mantra ingrained within them that accepts and defends this sort of behavior.

What a sad, dysfunctional and broken world we live in.

Kudos and props to Emma for offering a counterpoint, I'm on record with not being a huge fan of Emma but my perception of her has been better of the last few seasons. Good for you Emma! She has provided a solid counterpoint throughout this farcical debacle, and she's really improved as a presenter/host of recent, in not laughing at herself/things all of the time, and remaining somewhat impartial... and providing a counterpoint.

You seem to forget that women are capable of the same type of behaviour
and it isn't exclusively something that only men are capable of.
Lee did say he wasn't ready for a relationship and has only known casey a few days lee has not commited the crime of the century and casey could have backed off earlier when lee said no to relationship in the house. Lee I think is still getting over a past relationship; casey stiil has feeling for lee despite his behaviour
its her choice and as she gets to know lee better she will find out more about what she's getting involved with she clearly cares for lee and even though he spurned her I think she will not give up with him just yet.Women now have more power to make right or wrong choices in relationships casey is 29 so no stranger to love they are not in a relationship so Casey shouldn't have expectations from lee!

I didn't forget, it's just not the example presented. If it was a Female doing the same thing to a male in which i was observing i would then look at that context/subtext, however.. it's not the context/subtext that i'm observing and presented with.

The rest sounds like more blaming of Casey and trying to defend, enable and excuse Lee, in accepting his behavior... which there is way too much of. To the point it's an extremely sad commentary. Imo.

well I guess its how you see it but sad? not so sure because they seem to be working their differences out in the bolthole also dont thnk anyone really blaming casey they both went along with the heated
situation they were put into but casey isn't being silly she seems a perceptive woman and knows jasmine isn't really into lee she is quite a clever and I think she is keeping lee in her sights I doubt she will let go off him as she seems to have got over the problem !

I wouldn't take much notice of the BOTS audience, in my experience from watching the show most of the people in the audience have an IQ less than their shoe size and just bump their gums in a frenzy without having the first clue what gobbledygook is coming out

Its just astounding that Lee dosent see what he did wrong, NO he wasn't engaged to Casey but after being so close and the things he said he could have distanced himself from her, after an explination of course, waited a respectable amount of time and THEN pursued Jasmin. He is actually making it all Caseys fault, shows what an immature little w****r he is!!

It goes beyond just what we're seeing in Big Brother, it's commentary on social, group, gender, human dynamics.. which is one of the greatest aspects to the experiment within observation of Big Brother.

This scenario with Lee as observed isn't too different than what one would encounter in other similar scenarios, and by observing it and the reactions to it one gets a perspective of the causality involved in such a dynamic.

That causality is the sad commentary.

Yeah, that's what astounds me in that he hasn't really learned from it, or accepted it or anything of the sort.. if anything, instead he's turned himself into the victim and has completely dismissed and denied everything and put the blame elsewhere, which makes it all the more confounding in it's enabling/defense.

Granted, I probably shouldn't say "the world" based on it. It's more of a figure of speech to emphasize the importance i feel of it than literally the entire world.

Can you imagine if a female had conducted herself the way he has,there would be uproar and no excuses made for her.

Oh, geez... if it was a Female i can only imagine how much she would be destroyed, i doubt there would be much enabling, accepting and defending then like there is with Lee, and the ironic thing is... some of the most outspoken, and venomous, and vicious voices against her would probably be Female.

I'm just speculating here, theorizing but i bet that some of the Females who defend and enable Lee would turn around and be vicious towards a Female who does the same thing, call her a slut and whatever.

I can't wait to live in a time where there is no more, "he's just a jack the lad", "it's what males do", "he's a red/hot blooded male" and any other enabling, defending and accepting of this behavior.

Why is it so difficult to have some empathy and treat people with some respect and have some sensitivity for someone's feelings? That's all Lee had to do and there wouldn't be any of this controversy about it and he and Jasmine could go off and live happily ever after, if he just had some respect and empathy, and sensitivity toward another person. Is that so hard that he should be defended and enabled in not doing it.

It's embarrassing to see the hypocrisy and total double standards between genders at the best of times both on here and in the real world but when you see women 'enable' (as you say) blokes, well that to me just seems like women shooting their own gender in the foot.

Perhasp the BOTS audience women just don't really want equality anyway.

Trust me, i have been probably the biggest Emma Willis hater on here... i mean vicious toward her, to the point of calling her the single worst presenter on TV and not just UK... and atrocious in every way, shape and form.

I'm completely surprised about this but she's been winning me over, i feel like she's improving exponentially since she started hosting the main show. The things that have annoyed me so much about her (that i mentioned initially) and why i thought she was so terrible are fading more and more each day, and she's becoming a total professional and great in my eyes, i mean, she's still no Cat Deeley but she's getting there.

And what happened to the "girl's girl" issue that was seen as so important to recently? I think it's pretty clear by now, and not only from bb14, that "girl's girl" is used opportunistically as an attack on a women who's disliked for some other reason that wouldn't sound so admirable if it were expressed.

Anyway how should the double standard be resolved into a single one? I think there's a danger of making it sound like Lee ought to be treated as women so often are, torn apart, vilified, etc. I would say neither that, nor the 'enabling' and excusing, are the right single standard.

I don't think any of the HMs in the 'triangle' have behaved all that well, and that the worst thing about Lee has been that he's been dishonest and has twisted things to try to make it seem Casey's the one who's behaved badly or in questionable ways.

In a way if a girl did what Lee did they'd get way more hate . Lee will probably be forgotten about what he's done in a week or two.
He was single but made it seem like there may be a chance in the outside world for him and Casey an then was still chasing Casey an when Casey did try and break it off even though he'd told others he didn't want a relationship he still was saying he'd give it a chance.
It was only 3 days so I can see how he or people may see it as a overreaction .

That's what shocks me more than anything, the fact he doesn't think he's done anything wrong. I think many of us might be a little more forgiving (just a little, mind)if he'd have gone 'you know what, I was thinking with my d*ck and I've been a complete w*nker'. But it's the fact he can't see any problem with the way he;s behaved and seems to actually be pushing some of the blame onto Casey.

Problem is, he's never grown up. He's been treated like something special just because he can hold a tune and he's so used to having adoring fans worshipping his every move than he doesn't live in the real world
