Hellmans Real Mayonnaise

Does anybody else find every other brand of mayonnaise disgusting in comparison to Hellman's or is it just me? I have tried all the supermarket brands and other brands and none compete.

btw Low calorie mayonnaise is absolutely rank I would rather be fat than eat that crap.

I can't say i've noticed the difference.

I buy what is on offer or what is available.
The one in the cupboard at the moment is from ALDI.

If Hellmans is on offer then i'd get that, if Heinz is better value i'd get that.

I'm not sure how low fat mayo can be classed as mayo having seen how it is made. It's a totally different product.

Heinz all the way for me. I am lucky as I own a fish & shop so buy the "Heinz squeeze me satchets" from my wholesaler. Always got a satchet in my pocket lol

I remember now. There was a shop in Worksop that sold imported stock. They did the thick salad cream. They also did a Heinz Hawaiian sauce and tins of Heinz sausages in tomato sauce. The sausages you get with beans. Yum yon that was years ago though

It's dead easy if you have a hand blender.

All the ingredients MUST be at the room temperature

1 egg
1 tblsp white wine vinegar
1/2 teasp mustard powder
salt & pepper
1/4 pint oil

Put the egg, vinegar and seasonings in the blender jug. Blend and add the oil pouring slowly in a thin stream while blending.

Foolproof.

Right Monday will give it a whirl! ( it will be easier at there as I have a hand blender at work)

Raw egg? That's the only thing that is worrying me lol

There's an easier no fail version available
You shot all the ingredients into a bowl and blend.

Raw egg is a lot safer than most people think.

I'd rather eat raw egg any day than this lot:

Water, Modified Maize Starch, Spirit Vinegar, Pasteurised Egg & Egg yolk (3.7 %), Sugar, Salt, Vegetable Oil, Glucose Syrup, Citrus Fibres, Flavourings (Contain Lactose), Stabiliser (Xanthan Gum), Colours (Titanium Dioxide, Beta Carotene), Preservative (Potassium Sorbate), Lemon Juice Concentrate, Antioxidant (Calcium Disodium EDTA)

This is the ingredients list for Hellmans Mayo.
