Now lets just say this was the other way around!!...Liz says her horse kicked her and she got angry and slapped it. Evander then says.."if that was my horse i'd stab YOU"...how would this place react to that? and it wasn't like she was giggling or anything...the crazy woman looked serious.

I just wonder why there's one rule for certain housemates and another rule for others?...Evander was vilified after his crass comments but Liz got saved after threatening violence!!..how does that add up?

There is a slight difference between a tiny woman slapping a horse and a man the size of a horse, a boxer, punching a horse - which was pregnant.

Liz does seem a bit wacko when it comes to animal rights. It's ok to be against cruelty to animals but punishment should be proportionate. Punching a horse and getting stabbed in reprisal does seem a bit extreme.

The point is what would have happened if Evander had threatened to stab Liz? or is it one rule for her and another rule for him?

The difference is Evander is strong enough to knock a bloody horse out. Liz could charge at a horse and knock herself out. The situation didn't happen that way round, why? Because Liz wouldn't punch a pregnant horse.

There is a difference between a world champion, heavy weight boxer's angry punch and a woman's slap. I don't think for one moment Liz would actually stab anyone. The comment was a response which showed the extent of her disgust and anger.

This is a 'what if' that shouldn't be posted.

It only starts arguments.

Maybe that's OPs wish

It was an inappropriate comment to make, but you can't honestly be taking it seriously? Do you really think she'd stab him?

And I thought she was laughing while saying it. I seem to remember Luisa laughing and Liz smiling?

She didn't threaten him. She said IF you punched my horse, which he didn't, so there was no threat.

She didn't threaten to stab him. She said 'if you punched my horse, I would stab you'. Given no horse was present and is unlikely to be introduced to him any time in the future, it was a pretty idle threat. Why does everybody have to be so literal about everything Liz Jones says or writes?

That isn't the point the OP is making

Would the reaction be the same if Evander said he would stab a woman....regardless of the reason?

You're dodging the question at hand...what would have happened if Evander threatened to stab Liz?

Oh stop being such a drama queen! She was just exaggerating to emphasise how much she cares about her horse, of course she wasn't actually threatening him!

Get a grip.

But in order to make that threat Liz would have had to have done something like punch a pregnant horse or stomp on a puppy....did she?

I agree with her totally if someone punched my horse esp size of Evanda I'd probably do that person a great deal of damage. Can't condone animal cruelty in anyway.

i think some people are kidding themselves here. under no circumstances would it be ok or allowed without some punishment for a man to say/joke that he would stab a woman

It was a dodgy comment aid aggressively, akin to a threat, which in the past has had people called into the diary room.

So it's ok to stab people over a horse now?...is that what you're saying?

This.

Although personally, if I was in that house I'd have also said it to him - and meant it!

I think that discussing why Evander thinks that it's acceptable to punch a pregnant horse has far more validity than criticising Liz in her defense of the poor animal. Of course Liz wouldn't stab anyone whereas Evander DID punch the horse and seemed proud that he had done so.

I'm delighted that he's out as anyone who mistreats animals is a disgusting human being. I sincerely hope that he faces charges of animal cruelty for his admission
