It was a dodgy comment aid aggressively, akin to a threat, which in the past has had people called into the diary room.

I probably would have said something similar to Liz and I don't even own a horse, heck, I don't even like horses but bloody hell he punched a pregnant one. He's a sarnie short of a picnic.

No one has stabbed anyone over a horse. There was no horse and no knife. Get a grip!

It wasn't a threat.
If she said "I'm going to stab you", you'd have a point. She said that if he punched her horse, she would have stabbed him. Note the lack of immediate or pending harm. |

She didn't threaten him. She said ''IF you punched my horse, I'd stab you.'' A threat would have been Liz saying something like ''I'm GOING to stab you.'' But she didn't. You're acting as though she picked up a knife from the bloody kitchen and held it to his throat or something.
And to answer your question, if Liz was telling Evander that she'd punched a pregnant horse because it humiliated her, and Evander had replied ''If you punched my horse, I'd stab you'' I wouldn't have any issue with it whatsoever. Just like I have no issue with Liz saying that to Evander. |

If Evander had suggest he would stab liz over a horse what would the reaction be?
That said, I automatically side with anybody who is against horse punching. The fact you're sat villifying a woman who wants to defend her horses over a man who decked a horse for showing him up says a lot about you. |

I'd think he was a bit mental as I do with Liz, but that wouldn't legally be a threat either.

If Evander had said he'd stab Liz over any hypothetical situation what do you think the reaction on here would be? |

It is double standards - but because it's over a horse the animal lovers on here think it's justified.

You're the one trying to defend liz's comments (not very well may i add) so i'm merely asking you to clarify your stance..is it ok to threaten to stab someone over a horse? yes or no?
IMO it's a completely understandable response to a shocking admission of animal cruelty. Big bully hitting a defenceless pregnant creature because it showed him up?! There's no comparison between what he DID, and what she merely SAID. |

You're missing the point.
Forget the horse. If Evander had said he'd stab Liz over any hypothetical situation what do you think the reaction on here would be? However, you have to realise that there is a massive imbalance of power between Liz and Evander already. Liz is undeniably weaker than Evander, he'd floor her while a punch from her to him would be more likely to break her own hand. A different reaction isn't automatically a double standard - if a 5 year old threatened to punch you you'd laugh whereas if you threatened to punch a 5 year old people would react much differently because it's more likely that it could theoretically happen and do damage. That said, Evander clearly wasn't unnerved. He didn't seem to feel unsafe. He's probably forgotten about it already, so you're putting far more stock into it than necessary. |

If someone punched my Animal or if I saw someone beating one I would hospitalize them I don't care what anyone has to say, so I know where she came from.

Now lets just say this was the other way around!!...Liz says her horse kicked her and she got angry and slapped it. Evander then says.."if that was my horse i'd stab YOU"...how would this place react to that?
and it wasn't like she was giggling or anything...the crazy woman looked serious.I just wonder why there's one rule for certain housemates and another rule for others?...Evander was vilified after his crass comments but Liz got saved after threatening violence!!..how does that add up? |

If the way he phrased it wasn't legally a threat, then Big Brother's reaction would be exactly the same. He wouldn't be hauled in.

a 5 year old with a deadly weapon (knife or gun) can cause just as much damage if it was done by an adult
You're safer with a child who has it out for you than with a fully grown adult who has it out for you. |

I'm not putting any stock on it at all. I'm asking a question. What would the reaction be ON HERE (not from BB) if he'd said it and worded it exactly the same

It'd differ because of the imbalance of power, as in the example I gave you.
Ok, thanks, double standards then. As I suspected. and by the way I think punching a horse (pregnant or otherwise) is absolutely disgraceful. |
