It seems you always quote people and criticise them. You have done it three times on this thread. That's not a surprise.

Yeah, but there's no debate without addressing the opinions of others. If there's no debate, then what would the purpose of this thread be?

od hominem perhaps has been a bit passionate, but the posts didn't seem to be going that far out. "Daft" is about as bad as it got, and that really doesn't meet the burden of being a personal attack. And if it's not a personal attack, then its legitimate debate.

You can be as much a sporting legend as you want but once you fail at being a decent human being, that negates everything else.

If only he'd shown some interest in the others, perhaps learned their names, done some washing up... He could have looked less of a self-obsessed numbskull.

Poor Evander Whats wrong with people?

Imo poor Evander should never have gone in BB - he didn't seem to know what day it was....He appeared bored and I found him very boring to watch...

Were you also disgusted with Liz saying she would stab him if he punched her horse. Him punching a horse was wrong but her making that statement and no one batting an eyelid about it is wrong. I bet if Evander had made that statement the forum would have been in meltdown.

'Evander threatens to stab someone bla bla' bunch of selective hypocrites! She is an animal lover but would stab another human being rather than punch them for punching her horse and people call her nice and he is getting a lot of stick for what he said rightly so, but what she said was nasty and is being ignored.Scary!

Lance Armstrong anyone? Oscar Pistorius? OJ Simpson? Pete Rose? Tiger Woods and his penis? Michael Vick and any handy Dog? Dennis Effing Rodman and his sudden love of murderous dictators?”

Completely agree. Evander was more than a disappointment. Lots of boxers are intelligent and thoughtful (David Haye in the jungle, for instance). Evander isn't one of them.

I think the whole thing has been badly edited on purpose to achieve C5's desired outcome. Who knows what Evander did or didn't do, we saw four fifths of beggar all of him, and only seen fleeting glances of Sam (Sam who??)

Personally I thought the way Dumb and Dumber came down the stairs to cheers and whoops while the man they had decided to evict was ignored by virtually everyone was an utter disgrace. Showed a total lack of manners, intelligence, call it what you like.

So back to the Dumb, Dumber and Dumbass threesome show <yawns> I think I'll give it a miss and catch up with events on here. I have said many times before that the forums are far more interesting than the actual programme

He was a terrible housemate, so boring, even his two moments of controversy were delivered in dull fashion. I'm only half joking when I say I think he took too many knocks to the head...

C5 would have paid a huge amount for Evander to appear on BB, so it is highly unlikely they would try to edit him out unless there was nothing to edit in. I suspect he just sat around looking vacant for the week, hardly joining in, and just looking bored. Think C5 cut their losses as, as you say, the action was obviously elsewhere, and it was obvious that Evander was highly unlikely to contribute further to the show.

Evander must had led an amazing life and I was looking forward to finding about more (good or bad) about the man but it just didn't happen or look like it would. thus we had to suffer dumb & dumber

C5 clearly wanted to keep certain HMs in so they made sure Lee and Casey got the final say.

For someone who is supposedly religious, he is seriously lacking in compassion, and oozing in self-importance.

That's par for the course in my experience.

how thee fook he is out and Liz is still in there i don't know.

calling this highly decorated individual boring and offering nothing when Liz is in there..a ghoul who threatens to stab another human being over an animal (where was the mock outrage for that one ?)

and speaking of mock outrage..Evander is from the deep south...guy probably been through some struggles..poor and racism etc..he doesn't care about your pc brigade and fake mock outrage.

he wasn't boring to me..whenever they showed him i was amused for the most part.
apart from his bewilderment in there, he's got the old southern thing where most things he says, in the cadence is just amusing....like Chris Rock said..old black men can get away with saying anything.

I think he misunderstood the concept of the show. He kept saying to Emma and Ryland that he wanted to help people and I think he thought he was to be a "big brother" to look up to in a mentoring kind of way. I doubt he knows about the 1984 origin of Big Brother and should have watched a few more shows. He would have understood the handcuffing task then. Glad he has gone. Vile man. I hope the poor horse wasn't too badly hurt.

A version of Big Brother exists in America, even if the rules are a bit different. It's still a show which makes it clear it's about being spied on by the public and notoriously features heavy fake storylines imposed via editing by producers.

Boxing legend? Perhaps. But he sure got knocked out of Big Brother!

All he did was sit there reading the bible. He managed to slur out a backwards comment about homosexuality and how he punched a horse but that was it. I'd say he's up there with my least favourite CBB housemates.

What they did before doesn't matter. For example, Gillian Taylforth was a lot more well known than say Rylan, but Rylan made the series and Gillian was just... There. Nice woman, but nothing there. Shame Evander has neither a nice personality or any presence.

Quite - that's an excellent point that I couldn't quite put into words myself.

It is CELEBRITY Big Brother, and I would rather watch him than boring Liz and the even more boring love-triangle.

It comes down to several things:

1) He was boring.

2) He insulted the gay vote.

3) He offended the animal rights lot.

4) He had some interesting opinions about women.

In words of Emma his "fate was sealed". By all means hold strong opinions but for goodness sake don't express them on a reality TV program. That is just stupid.
