Are they only doing this for the first 2 week? because I find it completely unnecessary and it kind of eliminates the aspect of the skate off.

It's only because there was a double elimination, Only 1 will go next week after a skate off as far as I'm aware

I don't really think there was a need for double eliminations early on - it would have been better to save them until later in the series. Saving at least 1 until towards the end would also have the benefit of added insurance should someone get injured (though I really hope that doesn't happen).

It does seem kind of pointless to invite 14 couples back, let them do 3 months of training and then kick out 4 straight away

I agree it's pretty evil really. Really felt for Jorgie last week but David going - was kinda meh!

Yes - and in a All Stars programme we really should have been spared Todd Carty staggering on into the next round because 'the public loves him'.

Well I'm part of the public and I would expect an All Stars to be full of people who can skate properly!

I totally agree, just my opinion but I would have preferred 4 less couples, no eliminations in the first 2 shows and then when they all skated together start knocking couples out
