A good man goes to War

Watched this again today but for the first time after the 'of the doctors episodes.. .

I forgot or maybe didnt notice from before how good it was. A couple of things of note, when Lorna (the girl who ran with the Doctor when she was a child, but unlike Amy he never came back for) died near the end this was quite sad, but not as shocking as seeing Amy's reaction when the baby she was protecting just melted into goo in her arms. However, the other thing: The Headless Monks were pretty bad-ass, I'd love to see them again.

thought it was great, first time, and loved the panache with which they did the whole river as amy's daughter reveal at the end and the speech river gives to the doctor about the army coming together in fear of him, and how because of him, in some area's the word doctor now mean's warrior. powerful stuff. then again I like most scene's which make the doctor reflect on the fact that he isn't alway's perfect, because he isn't and to acknowledge it and he to reflect on it makes the character more three dimensional. particularly love davros's speech in journey's end for this same reason. "the doctor, the man who keeps running, never looking back because he dare not out of shame" contrast's nicely with stuff like the "fire and ice" speech from family of blood.sorry to go a bit off subject it's just the one thing made me think of the other
