Jaffa Cakes
Do you love them? do you think supermarket own brands are as good as the McVitie ones? I don't

I don't think the own-brand are as good - no, they are much better than McVities.

No Jaffa cakes in the states? wow, they are missing something
Sainsburys own are pretty good to be honest, and their basic version is ok if you tight on money. I love Jaffa cakes, but I have cut down on sweet stuff at the moment, so only yo yo Bear fruit rolls for me

Prefer Asda own brand to McVities. The sponge has a bit of a crunch to it

I don't eat them enough to notice. I've not found any problems with other/non brands

I know I'm weird, but Jaffa Cakes have never floated my boat. The whole 'like a biscuit but a cake' thing really doesn't sit right with me - always expecting more of a crunch than I get.
M&S do similar but with a biscuit base which is perfect. |

I always laugh at that company called 'Graze'? You order boxes off nibbles from them apparently. They have a mixture that tastes like Jaffa cakes they say on their advert. I mean why not buy a packet of actual jaffa cakes

Believe me, that is praise indeed!

My little granddaughter has a dairy allergy so can't eat McVitie's Jaffa Cakes but can some of the supermarket own brand ones ( which just so happen to be dairy free). These include Sainsbury's variety which she loves.
Not suitable for customers with allergy to milk due to the manufacturing methods. A friend of mine daughter can't eat anything with wheat in, so she have buy stuff which is over the top in price and Jaffa cakes for her cost about £1.80 for a small box and even that can have traces of milk in. Believe me, that is praise indeed! they are nice, also the basic ones are not bad, if you are short on cash.
Jaffa cakes are also not that bad for you if you don't go over the top, the problem is once i started eating them, I can't stop. |

Jaffa Cakes, another putrid confect from that well-known purveyor of inedible dreck, McShitties. Why not try the real thing, Bahlsen's Messino...real chocolate, more flavoursome orange, better sponge...er nicer box.

Then I'm weird too. I like chocolate, I like orange, I like cake/biscuit. But somehow for me it's all wrong on a Jaffa Cake. Actually it's more that I find the separate layers absolutely hideously made.
So it's probably more than the cake-y issue which bothers me

I used to work with a Polish girl and she brought some Polish ones in one day and they had a wide variety of flavours including a vanilla flavour one which was absolutely lovely.

They're all good with a cup of coffee - probably all made in the same factory anyway.

I prefer genuine McVitie's Jaffa Cakes.
I like a soft sponge base. |
