What happened with Jasmine?

I missed it. Something about Liz calling her pretty?

Thanks

Liz said Jasmine made her want to kill herself because she's so pretty. Jasmine took offence to the words she used because her father commit suicide. Liz didn't know that though.

As part of the reason liz picked Jasmine for nomination was because of Jasmine's looks.

Liz said that Jasmine's looks makes her feel inadequate and she felt that she wanted to kill herself ( tongue in cheek) but jasmine's father committed suicide when she was young and Jasmine didn't take to kindly to liz saying that.

The CBB rules regarding nominations are really stupid, Lee could not nominate Sam because his reason was not valid yet Liz saying Jasmine is too pretty is valid.

Jasmine was just looking for attention and hoping to pick a fight as per usual.

I LOVE Jasmine but that was a bit ridiculous.

In fairness she asked Liz to use a different choice of words
but Liz being hard of hearing / not quick on the uptake didn't change her choice of phrase.

I don't think Jasmine was picking a fight just saying why she might take offense to that particular statement.

Afterwards when she was saying she went out of her way to be nice to Liz etc. she was probably deluding herself a bit.

She suffered a personal tragedy and someone bringing something up that calls that to mind would take your head out of the game.

I think it was reasonable for her to ask Liz to re-phrase her nomination

Flipping Sam managed to get Lee to change his nomination altogether without raising any personal trauma.

Really? She appears to have the personality of an oak wardrobe. Each to their own, though.

A tad unfair I think Od Hominen, An genuine oak wardrobe has a lot of character.

It wasn't reasonable at all for Jas to ask Liz to change her wording, as it was Liz's right to make whatever nom reason she felt.. Would have been better if Jas had kept her mouth shut, as it was she who made the matter worse!

She didn't ask her to change her nomination just an apparently flippant remark about suicide.

Liz wasn't to know about Jasmine's Father but it was not the best choice of words really.

The other stuff after that about being born that way etc. was self-indulgent crapola but in relation to the 'kill myself' remark better it was said out in the open to prevent further misunderstandings.

It may have been an OTT reaction but still could be genuine
If she said nothing but was upset by it, she would inevitably go around telling everyone why she was offended without Liz having any awareness of the offense or means to apologise.

I dislike Liz, but good God, mountain and molehill time. Jesus, my ex was murdered but I don't throw a wobbler every time somebody mentions murder.
Fair enough she FELT a bit off, understandable, but making a scene over it was ridiculous.
We really need a rolly-eyed smiley again. Or a foot-stamping one.

Reasonable request from Jasmine IMO.

Yet another ridiculous thing by Liz.

I feel that Jasmine has changed quite significantly between week one and week 2. I do wonder if at some point since late last week someone has told her that the key to this show Is to court controversy and drama because that gets air time and more air time improves the chances of winning. Just a thought.

I agree. I suspect Luisa has coached her on the QT. And now the showmance wiv Lee is up-chuckingly tedious as well

Sorry to hear about your ex. of course you don't throw a wobbler because you're a normal well balanced human being.
These are self centred, self obsessed zedlebrities that expect everyone else to be keenly attuned to their individual baggage and quirks.

She could have spoken to Liz about it privately afterwards but that was never likely to happen. If anything she would have increased the whispering campaign about cruel insensitive Liz.

Even if it made a bit of a scene at least it's out in the open now

and that it's a slightly different context in being a father and suicide, and that each person is affected and reacts to things differently. What effects one person could affect another in a completely different way. To be fair.

Liz saying Jasmine made her want to commit suicide was OTT, even if Jasmine's dad hadn't.

Better wording would have been 'I feel inadequate around her'. She is obsessed with looks, nominating Linda because she looked like her sister whom she didn't get along with. She nominated Luisa last time because she reminded her of a school bully.

All things she feels about other people the HMs remind her of, not the HMs.

I feel her reasons are not good enough as they are not about the actual HM.

I was quite shocked when she said that and would be horrified if someone said that about me as a reason to nominate, especially as it was based on looks.

She came across unhinged and totally lacking in confidence when she said that. She needs help.

And in the last nomination round Sam nominating Jim because Linda doesn't like him was accepted as a valid reason by Sam.

I've been on the fence regarding Jasmine all series, but that put an end to it. If anyone else has said what Liz said, regardless of how carelessly chosen the words, Jasmine wouldn't have reacted in such a way.

It is a common thing for children, whose parents die, commit suicide, divorce, etc., to personalize it, and think it is their fault.

That she still has problem with it is understandable.

I find it hilarious Jasmine keeps harping on about 'she was born that way' and it's not her 'fault' etc. Um Jasmine - we've all seen your police mug shot BEFORE all that plastic surgery and you were NOT born like that and it IS your fault as you paid to look like that.
