A Skaro based story with Davros is probably overdue now.

I feel it in my Plunger
I feel it in my Bumps Death is all around me And so the feeling grows It's written on the wind It's everywhere I go, So you will obey me Come on and let me Exterminate You You know I'll Kill you, I always will My mind's made up by the Way that I feel There's no beginning, There will be an end 'cause on your death you can depend So we can have an ethically unsound scientist operate on the Daleks so that they sing all the time instead of speaking and the next Dalek story can then be a Musical. |

They definitely need to scale down. The best Dalek episodes are the ones where they are a real threat. Claustrophobic and deadly, like the episode "Dalek".
Destroying millions of Daleks per episode reduces their threat level to laughable. |

Still, I like to see them in large numbers, whether being destroyed or not, and I think a new Dalek Civil War would allow for that without disempowering them... Blow them up in their millions but have them doing it to each other and have the internal division that stems from their fascistic tendencies be the mechanism by which the Doctor defeats them

Joking apart. How about the Doctor intervening between the Daleks and some other alien race - and trying to prevent the war? The alien race are saved and the Daleks carry on (as they do!)
It'd be better than the usual 'destroy the universe' claptrap! We've seen the 'End of the Universe' so many times - or 'Taking over the Universe' - it's a bit boring now! Whatever happens - the Daleks will carry on....as will the Doctor! |

How about the Doctor saving the Daleks from an alien invasion of Skaro. That would be a nice twist.

What I'd LOVE and said on here before is to explore Davros before he became so injured and scarred. Let's meet the scientist before he became the maniac.
It would be an awesome 2 parter with the Doctor realising who he is as the cliffhanger to part 1. Please make it happen!!!

There's a multipart Big Finish serial covering that territory, which is actually quite good, though it's told without the Doctor.

I enjoyed the Big Finish one but they couldn't really do a Doctor Who episode without the Doctor and I can't really see how they could use the Doctor in a story about a pre-Dalek Davros without Davros finding out about the Doctor and, therefore, compromising the fact that he didn't know about him in Genesis.
Otherwise make is Doctor lite like in Blink. I just feel it in my gut there's a great 2 parter story to be had here. |

But you're spot on with the Davros backstory business... Everything before Genesis was written over so from the Daleks' perspective their interactions with the first three Doctors didn't happen exactly as we saw them. Throwing in a few audios for good measure (You can take em or leave em unless anyone can point out any major contradictions with the new series in them), I think this is pretty much the Dalek chronology that still stands... AUDIO: “I, Davros” series Genesis Of The Daleks AUDIO: Lucie Miller/To The Death (8th Doctor) Destiny Of The Daleks AUDIO: Enemy Of The Daleks (7th Doctor) Resurrection Of The Daleks AUDIO: Davros Revelation Of The Daleks AUDIO: The Davros Mission AUDIO: The Juggernauts (6th Doctor) (COMIC: Emperor Of The Daleks) Remembrance Of The Daleks The Night Of The Doctor (for continuity's sake) The Last Day/The Day Of The Doctor Dalek The Long Game/Bad Wolf/The Parting Of The Ways Army Of Ghosts/Doomsday Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution Of The Daleks The Stolen Earth/ Journey’s End Victory Of The Daleks (GAME: City Of The Daleks) The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang Asylum Of The Daleks The Time Of The Doctor

Moff missed a trick with Amy leaving. Instead of over using the Angels and having her live to a ripe old age he should have had her exterminated by the Dalek's in the pre-titles sequence. Massive shock to everyone and the Daleks are shown to be scary and powerful, all in 3-5 minutes. The main episode would then have been the Doctor & Rory solving whatever foul timey wimey scheme the Daleks had made, with Rory saving the day by sacrificing himself ala Adric in Earthshock as he couldn't bear to be without Amy.
Next time the Doctor meets the Daleks he's even more annoyed with them as he killed Amy and forced Rory to kill himself to save the World, all the while the fans are like "those Dalek's are evil bastards arn't they?" |

I disagree that you couldn't do an episode without the Doctor, there is a precedent for it that goes right back to 1965 (Mission To The Unknown).
But you're spot on with the Davros backstory business... Everything before Genesis was written over so from the Daleks' perspective their interactions with the first three Doctors didn't happen exactly as we saw them. If you mean the Time War, I think Genesis was essentially the start of the Time War. No reason to assume that the Daleks reversed that, though. I always got the impression that their development was delayed but not stopped. Daleks are a bit like cockroaches. It's almost impossible to stamp them out completely! If you mean Clara and the GI, there's no reason to assume that Genesis turned out any differently due to their actions. If you mean the universe reboot after the TARDIS exploded, I thought the assumption was that the Universe was put back pretty much the way it was. |

I'd like to see a new dalek shell; maybe a War of the Worlds tripod type device.
Just something new and sinister to house the mutant within, perhaps for specific missions/purposes. |

I don't understand, when was Genesis written over?
Genesis is set before the Dalek stories of Doctors 1, 2 and 3 but after the events of Genesis that future is altered... Quote:
