We said much the same. Either he's stage-managed completely by the DOI producers or Jason misinterprets where 'the line' is when he gets carried away on a Sunday evening. Maybe it's a mixture of the two? Either way he was good fun on Celeb GBBO tonight, seemed to be having a ball - now that Jason you'd spend time with in a heartbeat.
his reactions were priceless. Very good point about getting carried away I really was expecting him to be very arrogant but he really came across very nice. |

We all know they all have 'roles' to play when it comes to judging panels (look at Strictly and X Factor, for example), so it's no surprise that Jason's a decent person off the panel, but the fact remains that his comments are too much on the show.
I don't particularly care what he says (I've never been offended by him), but he just brings the entire tone down. Especially when this year is suppose to be a celebration. I like that he's tough on the contestants (he's often right with his criticism), but there's no need to bring the mood down with his fights with Karen and petty remarks at contestants. If he stayed constructive with his comments, he'd be great for the show. |

Yes, I know who I think it is ![]() I loved Jason last night on CRBO. When his swans collapsed, I laughed out loud. He has done himself a huge favour going on that show. |

He's the pantomime villain on Dancing On Ice. Surely everyone knew that. Just like everyone knows the "feud" with Karen Barber is stage managed.

Like TraceyUK, I too have met Jason, and always found him to be very polite, courteous and extremely caring. Mention his Mr Nasty role on DOI and he laughs. I think he finds it quite amusing that people actually think that is what he is really like, and can't work out that he is playing the role he has been set.

Reading Jason's twitter and how he keeps in touch with people, like his QAFTSG days, it's obvious his dancing on ice persona is not the real him.
Plus when he did the recent couples dancing show, there was no Mr Nasty |

To be honest, I rarely think Jason's comments are particularly bad. It's always seemed obvious to me he says most of it with a twinkle in his eye, and an attempt to give the contestants something to work on.
It seems to me that some people decided long ago he was a horrible person, and therefore interpret everything he says through that filter. Most of the celebs are able to laugh at his comments, and it's only because Karen insists on being offended on their behalf that it becomes a big deal. |

Being "Bored to Beth" and comparing Charron Davies to a turd was neither constructive nor clever and I certainly didn't see any twinkle in those rolling eyes. |

I loved the bit where he demonstrated the dancing from Swan Lake. Obviously talented.
We laughed until we cried at the last 2 programmes. Best things on telly for ages. |

Exactly, are the public that gullible? It is obviously managed by the producers of the programme. All Jason's comments are scripted, he is playing the baddie in a pantomine, just like Craig behaves on Strictly. The public are being manipulated into "hating" the baddie, they even booooo him on DoI! Hilarious. Same thing with the "fighting" between Karen and Jason, they probably go for a drink at the bar after the show. Gets headlines and that is what the whole PR campaign is about.
I don't give a monkey's whether it's "role playing" or "acting" and he could be a pussycat in real life. The fact is that his persona on the show has resulted in a lot of unpleasant remarks which were gratuitous, unnecessary and many people fast forwarding even more (it's impossible to watch this show live because of all the damned adverts, and padding). If they are trying to copy Craig on Strictly, they need to get new script writers because they've got it totally wrong. I've not watched it at all for the last couple of weeks, just a couple of the routines on YouTube, can't say I miss it, and I'm not entirely sure why I've come back into the forum...probably just to see how everyone is getting on .
