Help. This is very urgent. Basically, I've deleted some really important texts from my mobile. Is there any way that they're recoverable from the SIM card? Please, someone say something!

Thanks

Slightly off topic: Simon, did you ever get that E800 sorted?

Probably, but there is a faint hope. As with recovering deleted files on a PC the first thing to do is to prevent any overwriting, that is, switch off the phone. You then need specialist advice. I would suggest googling on <name of phone manufacturer> forum and posting this question there. As I said, a faint hope but better than nothing. There is software around that allows you to access files on phones.

I was under the impression, in fact i've heard it said officially, that anything deleted from a mobile phone is not recoverable. Everything deleted is deleted, full stop.

Looks like you will have to go and ask her for her phone number again.

don't they have like recycle bins?

or can your service provider retrace it from your simcard?

don't they have your account on a pc, like if you got your phone stolen, they would send out another sim card with your data on.

Just in an update to this: On Sky News last night an investigator/criminologist into the Suffolk murders said you could retreive deleted text message (which may help in the investigation). Any confirmation of this?

Your service provider has the abilitiy to recover deleted txt provided they have been sent first, they are NOT recoverable from the handset

PS....... just because they have the the abilitiy to recover deleted txt's please don't take it that they will, you have more chance of winning the lottery......Sorry

i can confirm this...they CAN recover your messages...but they wont do it becuse you accidentally ''deleated a really important text''

they reserve the facility for evidential purposes only

What was on the texts - they sound intriguing!

Never send important information via texts anyway - for this reason.

On a computer they are at least easily recoverable

Probably long forgotten by now - it was almost 2 years ago!
