Hi

Ive checked and run a few programs, I don't think my iMac has any Spyware running in the background. Yeah Netflix is fine on the PS3.

Thanks

Nothing that unusual in the trace, bit baffled. Line speed normal for the distance from the exhange, latency normal. I would say change the DNS to OpenDNS or Google, but I bet that's still locked out on the HH5? I have HH4 and it is.

Additionally BT phones with RJ11 sockets don't always use the same pair of pins as US phones, so even cables which have an RJ11 at one end can be wired differently. RJ45? its not 1928 mate LOL

WOW another anal pedant, when was you asked to come chuck a bun in the mix?

I bet you are the sort of bloke that is right on the back of people that ask for a hoover when they mean Vacuum arnt you ROFL

Im guessing non of these will work lads and lasses as the mighty have spoken http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_...keywords=RJ111

Oddly i am using this myself http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-RJ11M...&keywords=RJ11 between the OR filter and my HH5 and everything is great!

Probably just as well, since it wasn't standardised for network use until 1991. LOL

It's a free forum, when someone insists on "correcting" valid information with nonsense you'll always find people willing to help you get it right.

Good, glad to see you can finally see the difference between an "RJ11 male to male" cable, and an incorrectly labelled "RJ11 cable". I wouldn't pay £4.39 for a Belkin one, though, you can get better for much less (or just make one). Do have a nice day. Mate.

Hi

As a matter of curiosity. With BT Infinity, do u still need a micro filter connected?

Thanks

If you've had an engineer install it's all built in to the phone socket. No microfilters required anywhere. I believe they do self-install for Infinity now though so presumably those will need filters.

Hi

I was sent out a replacement HH5, after connecting it all up, I still have slow internet browsing speeds and my WiFi signal dropping out on a regular basis. My speeds seems to be stable, 36 MBPS D/L and 7 MBPS U/L. A line check was done and that appeared to be fine. In fact the WiFi in my living room is so slow its unusable. The HH5 sits in the bedroom directly above. This annoying issue has got me beat. Ive no idea whats causing it or how to get it fixed lol.

We have just got the BT infinity 2 pack today. With the advertised speed of 76MB download speed. so far I can only manage to get close to 70MB (Which is more than fine) on a speed test, but if I move just 2 rooms away from where the HUB is located the speed drops to around 31MB.

The signal strength is good almost on 100%, but the further away from hub I get the more it drops in terms of speed, and I only live in a small bungalow. Does anyone know how to keep the 70mb speed without having to sit in the same room as the hub?

an almost 40MB drop seems awfully high just because you are not in the same room as HUB.

As it was just installed today will it improve over the week?

Hi

Ok, so I've changed my DNS Setting following the advice. It hasn't made a difference. I still have slow internet browsing lol.

Thanks

I'm still not sure what the OP means by slow internet speeds. Speedtest seems OK, Netflix on PS3 is OK - what is slow? There could be a problem with the computer making it unresponsive. Did the pc used to be OK and is this a new fault ?

The normal method to troubleshoot computer problems is by substitution eg swap a psu, gfx card etc. I'd suggest the OP borrows a mate's computer and sees how that performs. If a pc that works fine in a different location shows the same fault at the OP's house, then it is a connection problem.

It's unlikely to make any difference to 'slow internet browsing'.

Hi

I've had my HH5 connected since Monday evening. It hasn't been turned off since, nor has there been any power cuts. I've checked the settings this morning at it states its been connected for 0 days 05:25 hours. Would that suggest theres a fault with my line?

Thanks

Not necessarily. Your Hub may have received a software update and rebooted itself. My HH5 did a couple of nights after I installed it. However its been stable and not rebooted itself again since then.

Hi

Ive just checked, my HH5 got an update yesterday. I'll keep an eye on the up time over the next few days and see what happens.

Thanks
