I'm afraid that every so often - not every series, but sometimes - this forum just does seem to turn into a massive hatefest. I find it very draining and depressing.
Obviously every series has its heroes and villains, but there is normally some debate, some balance, not just endless abuse. People with no sense of irony use the most disgustingly abusive terms to describe Linda because they think she is not being a nice person. I find it particularly bad this time because Linda seems to me emotionally fragile, and to have no idea how much hate has been stoked against her. I do blame BB: they should never have put her in the house with Jim in the hope that it would be funny: it has not been funny at all, just miserable; he will be all right because he is adored, but she won't be. And the edit has been really bad for her: they have never, ever shown her having ordinary, friendly times with people who like her; I genuinely think people on the staff are at one with people on here in wanting to see her demonised and Jim getting lovely positive attention. We have Sam saying she feels protective of Linda because Jim is always picking on her - and nothing whatsoever that shows that has ever been shown, just the other way round. I'm sure people will be queueing up to say that Sam is just 'part of Linda's coven' and just lying to make Jim look bad, but why in the world would she? It is surely overwhelmingly likely that if Sam thinks Jim has been picking on Linda, some form of picking on has happened; it just hasn't been shown, because Linda's selected 'story' is 'always picking on Jim; and Jim's selected 'story' is 'kindly Jim, always helping others'.

Her husband's crime was well publicised and he was caught on camera. Then he paid the price for that crime. I don't know that there is anything to betray him about.

She seems depressed to me. And I don't mean pissed off, I mean depressed.
Several times she has appeared distressed, sad and as if she has the weight of the world on her shoulders? No excuse for going after Jim as she has done since day one, but something needs fixing there. IMO |

If Jim had said to Luisa "ask Linda about the club she had me kicked out of" Linda would have given the same response because it relates to her dead husband stealing, yet Coleen was quite smug on BBBOTS when telling us that was the reason Linda disliked him.
The Nolan's just sap up sympathy |

Why do some people continually make the excuse that Jim was angry and fighting back when he sent Louisa with the message? He wasn't angry at all he was sitting in the garden quite calmly.
If Linda's husband stole money 25 years ago so what? It wasn't Linda who stole it. Would Jim supporters feel the same way they do if Jim's wife stole money 25 years ago? Jim probably knew the story would highly embarrass Linda. I'm glad however that he eventually thought it through, and it's possible repercussions on himself, and apologised. But sometimes is easy to apologise once you've achieved your intention. I know nothing of the Nolan's history, they've never been that interesting to me that I've needed to follow their lives, so all I've seen in Linda in this house & Colleen of course in a former show. I cannot understand the level of intense dislike Linda is receiving. |

Wonkeydonkey ........
It was unkind of BB to put those two in together. Either of them might have had a much more cheerful experience without the other, and BB MUST have known that. In effect they have sacrificed two people known to have a recent history of personal problems in the hope that it might be funny to the viewers.[/quote] Exactly. It's all about the ratings and viewing figures. Do they ever worry about the housemates once they leave the house and the cameras are turned off? But I guess we are just as bad, 'cos we watch it! |

She is a horrible person. I wasn't too bothered about Jim D when he went in and I thought he would be an embarrassment. Well, it's obvious who the embarrassment is, and she has acted atrociously. Jim has redeemed himself

Yet hers and her husbands past,is scrutinized to the most pedantic level and demonized. |

I agree. He has apologised, he knows he seriously was in the wrong, yet so many people persist in tearing lumps out of Linda? They don't blame him when that's not how he feels!
