Although June Whitfieid is now 88 I still believe she is acting- maybe she could make occasional appearances as Linda's Grandmother, Elaine's Mum and visit Walford to see her Grand-Daughter & Great Grandchildren with daughter Elaine.

I would call her Vera.

It's a shame June will only be in for a very short stint. She would be fab for EE. But then she may not want to be tied down to a long term role.

I couldn't imagine her as Linda's grandmother. I could easily see her as an old friend of Dot's or Cora's.

Elaine's Mother is dead so it wouldn't happen anyway.

I know that. But it wasn't me who suggested it, was it?

Yes but I suggested it long before Elaine arrived so I did not know then that her Mum had died.

When was it said that Elaine's mother is dead? The only time I can recall Linda's family being discussed was when they mentioned that her father, Elaine's husband, died quite young when Mick and Linda were kids. I can't remember Elaine's parents ever being mentioned and considering Elaine is only in her 50s its entirely plausible her parents are still alive. In fact given the family tradition of having children almost as soon as its biologically possible Elaine's parents could be as young as their late 60s.

I remember when Elaine arrived after Dean raped Linda and Linda was really depressed and in the kitchen Elaine said to Linda 'She would have been so proud of you' I am sure that she was referring to her Mum.

Elaine is probably about 57 or 58.

I think she's going to be Kat's other Nan. I'm looking forward to her scenes with Jessie.

Do we REALLY need another relation to the Carters? I couldn't think of anything worst.

Oh no, wait... Les and Pam's grandson might be appearing soon, I wonder if he's as drippy as they are?.

I know Kat divides opinion and she has been unbearable to watch at her very worst (think she has improved since last week though), but I'd really not want to more goodies handed to the Carters. They've had Timothy West and Maria Friedman. No need to give them a big name in June Whitfield. The family has more than enough to work with. It's good DTC has saved June for another character.

Your not keen on new(er) characters much are you. Exploring the underused and neglected characters isn't a bad thing although les is boring but in looking forward to meeting Paul! XD

June is 89 so she will not want a regular role- this role is a one off one.

June is 20 years older than Michael Elphick - who played Harry - would be if were still alive. I still think she's Nan Slater.

No, the OP is referring to Linda Carter of Eastenders. In actual fact June Whitfield is appearing in one episode of Eastenders playing a character connected to Kat.

June Whitfield will be a previous victim of Harry Slater. Kat will have a one-on-one conversation with her about their experiences.

But Harry was a peodophile and June is 20 years older than the guy who played Harry so I don't see how she could be his victim
