I am sick of Emma telling me how to think

I like Emma, up to a point, she is better than Davina or Brian but what I cannot stand is her telling us what we can and cannot think about housemates and BB.

I don't know if she reads DS but the amount of info on here gives us a huge amount of background knowledge of the housemates.

When speaking about Linda's husband it is as though he and his life is sacrosanct and not to be mentioned when she is giving only half the story and not the full truth of the matter.

Emma, you speak for yourself and the BB producers, your comments are skewed to this agenda and I am fed up with your headmistress admonishments of what we can and cannot think when we actually know that you are not giving the whole picture. You are a paid mouthpiece, nothing more so do not tell us what and how we should view happenings as BB is not known for its honesty or hiding behind PC when things kick off.

They want it to kick off and then act holier than thou when having to defend what they contrived in the first place.BB viewers and Forum posters are not all thick as Davina used to portray, they know when something is right and will discuss and disagree, what we do not want is to be talked down to by a paid employee who is not allowed to say anything but the party line by telling us what and how to think, we pay your wages Emma, just think on.

Brilliant and entirely accurate comment!! Glad someone said it, and so eloquently. Thank you.

Emma is entitled to say her opinion. I'm sure she would agree that on balance Jim has been a good housemate, but on this one occasion she disagreed with what he said.

It's fair enough really...

Good post Emma is pathetic, trying to be all sad and serious regarding "the low blow" comment from Jim(according to her and the producers who told her to say it) was vomit inducing, just telling half a bias side of a story is not right, she is following a script given but as you say she does it in a headmistress way it is cringy, i see she tried to back peddle last night about it though, as her twitter was telling her she was wrong in her views and being a bit bias for Linda.

I disagree, it is almost like scolding a child, you think this or that because I say so, wagging her finger and it isn't her opinion, it is the BB party line.

We're all entitled to our opinions, but on a show like BOTS where views are canvassed the presenter should be professional and even-handed. Her role should more challenge those views expressed by giving the counterpoint.

But I bet you don't mind when she says something you're in agreement with.

Emma is allowed her own opinion. What's ironic is that this thread is saying Emma is trying to tell you what to think when you're basically saying here that she can't speak out her own opinion. Now I'm not saying Emma doesn't have a tendency to be biased, she does, but it's not as if she goes around to the BOTS audience shouting and telling them not to root for Jim or another HM she dislikes.

Well said. I am not a fan of Emma and never have been.

Why did she not say that Jim never called Linda an arsehole? That should have been mentioned. I didn't watch last nights BOTS as the last 2 nights they have been bias against Jim.

'Blame and Claim' culture has turned the media (and the whole nation in some respects) into a bunch of tongue-holding hard-hat protective-glasses condom-wearing arrow-following sealed-windowed open-fireplace-filling parrots

I thought that Emma was really good at the start but I dislike her rather crude side now.

It is not that, it is when she was talking to the camera explaining about Frank Carson's dressing room and told us the man was dead and it shouldn't have been referred to and intimating this should be the end of it. She hadn't told the whole story or the reasons behind it either.

People who don't write on DS only have half a story as I found out more on here than the Internet.

It is not even Emma's opinion but the stance she has to adopt dictated by the BB producers. The BBBOTS audience participation is not what I was referring to.

I had a flick through 'The Sun' whist breakfasting in Sainsbury this morning and they certainly told the whole story, including that the thefts had been going on a while and that Jim tried to beat her husband up at the nighclub which is apparently why he was thrown out.
They also mentioned Lindas heavily edited version of the account to Lee.
So, various stories are doing the rounds out there.

That aside I do agree regarding Emmas bias but it's always been this way with her imo.
Her occasional forays into smuttiness and bad language seem to always sat very uncomfortably with her also, you can see she can't hide her inner cringe and embarrasment!
Personally I have never been a fan.

Emma is supposed to be impartial as she is the face of the show. Start debates yes, seek audience views yes but her own views sorry no.

I would tend to agree with this. Yes, she isn't The Speaker or David Dimbleby, but she should remain impartial, instead of spewing her personal pearls of wisdom.

The audience are able to make their own minds up, without hindrance from her, or her side kick, the untalented, cringe worthy, teeth flashing, shambolic Rylan.

Good post.

This is why I preferred Brian. He knew how the show worked. He'd been there...twice.

You could just think for yourself OP. its OK to disagree with Emma. and its OK for Emma to have an opinion. She's not telling you to think the same as her!

Interesting. I don't recall you making a complaint about Emma having opinions last year when Emma was overtly critical of Hazel, and gave Daley an easy ride. In fact, I seem to recall quite the opposite from you.

But then, you agreed with Emma that time didn't you?

How can any of you think it's OK for her to broadcast her opinion? she's a presenter and can influence a minority of viewers a certain way, we on the other hand cannot.

She should shut her trap and get on with presenting the show.
