When a person says animals are superior to humans, they won't be around someone who thinks animals don't have souls, would stab someone for punching their horse, someone made them want to kill themselves because she was beautiful, etc (not to mention all of the stuff outside the house) and still is the smartest.

Jim is probably the smartest though. Comedians are oftentimes unassumingly very intelligent. And his clever mental antics reveal he has a capable intelligence.

I found that a really touching clip as Liz has such low self esteem yet the HMs seem to really like and respect her. I'm not denying that her column in the Daily Fail is horrendous and I have been guilty of putting some fairly biting comments on there when she has infuriated me but I am starting to understand her now. She is so insecure and, as I have mentioned in previous threads, I suspect that much of it may come from her abusive marriage. I imagine that anyone who was married to the complete t*sser that she married would be left psychologically scarred.

I think that she will be a different person after her BB experience and I really hope that her life is happier for it.

There was a very interesting item on R4 Today programme this week about a study done of comedians. They show conflicting personality traits of extrovert and introvert and are more prone to psychosis than the general population.

I really hope that they do like and respect her but I can't help feeling they just might want to get on the right side of her pen. Would they all be treating her with the same level of respect if she wasn't a Journalist on a national newspaper?

I'm not seeing much evidence of Liz's intelligence. She's not a good writer and I'm surprised that people found her little journalistic assessment of the HMs 'succinct' and 'insightful'.

I'm also not buying her poor, insecure victim either. It just doesn't tally with her writer persona.

I really hope that it's not done with an ulterior motive as I think that she needs honesty from people. I have completely changed my opinion of her and I would like to think that she will be treated fairly by the others.

Completely agree, i certainly wouldn't say she's stupid but i also don't know what the big deal about that little journalistic task was. Honestly, it felt like something a sixth grader could put together and felt more like a punishment in enduring it, and there didn't seem to be much insight or enlightenment in what she brought forth as you said. "like one of Sam's boils". Blarg.

I don't buy into her whole act either, similar to Jim in presenting something that i don't feel is genuine.

Her delivery didn't help either.

Have you watched the video where the other HMs are all bigging her up and telling her she's worth it? (I posted it earlier on this thread.) Be interested to hear your opinion on it, now that I've found another person on here who's not quite buying the Liz that she seems to be peddling in there!

Haven't seen it, i have to go through a process of enabling a VPN/proxy to view them and usually if it involves Liz that doesn't get me motivated in going through that process. I shall check it out though.

I'm sort of spent on expressing myself about Liz from this thread, however. Don't know how much i have left in me.

Haha Yes, I can understand that! Briefly, they're all telling her she's an amazing woman, inside and out, a leader, in fact, and she needs to grab on to her greatness and not let her insecurity hold her back. I've never missed the DS eyeroll so much - not becasue of what the HMs were saying to her, they were being genuine and nice - more the way Liz was reacting to it...

I'm not entirely sure what to make of her.

She seems to have a contempt for humanity in some ways, maybe even her own.

Definitely appears to be more calculating than it would seem. As if her words have a more inside meaning to them that only she knows sort of thing, as if being sarcastic without all of the cues in letting it known you're being sarcastic as a way of feeling superior perhaps? It's like her way of fighting or lashing out at some great injustice or something. This is just interpretation and speculation on my part in how i feel. I haven't really seen enough of her to truly make my mind up in some areas.

She seemed to really enjoy being the center of attention there, even fishing for compliments to keep it going.

I don't believe the exterior tells the whole story on her, ie, the exterior conflicts with the mind in what's being presented. More calculating, and manipulative story than the exterior tells.

Perhaps her exterior is a defense of some kind, that she can hide there. She's a bit of an enigma, i'll give her that much. I'm just not so sure i even want to unlock the secrets within that enigma, and find out what's really there. Some things are better left undiscovered.

She really does! It's a shame her natural expression seems to be moody face cos her smile really does brighten up the room.

It is all very confusing, isn't it? I'm interested to see what she does and where she goes with her BB experience and in what way - if any - it'll impact on her writing post-CBB. Who knows, maybe she has had an actual epiphany in there, will throw off her victim shackles and will come dancing down those stairs desperate to embrace life, 2-legged humanity and make up for lost time...

It certainly is, hey, i wish her well... why not. I don't particularly like her much but no reason to wish bad things upon her, so... sure i hope she gets that epiphany and perhaps sees that all humans aren't so terrible, and can sort of find her way and leave behind whatever that is currently that exists.
