poll up. Personally I'm quite torn, because sometimes my favorite is nice but boring and other times my favorite is outrageous but very entertaining.

If I had to pick I would say mean but very entertaining!

The most interesting characters to me invariably display a mixture and substantial range of behaviour.

If I really like a housemate I never find them boring, so I can't vote.

lol at people actually preferring nice but boring housemates

You'd love a series full of Sam and Ollys then, in which people just get up early, do some housework, have a "funny" conversation then eat together?

Glad im not the only one who finds it strange, don't they realise boring housemates also probably hurt the ratings as well because people want to be actually entertained.

I prefer them to be themselves whatever that may be. Otherwise it's all just acting.

Charlotte was still outrageous and very mouthy though. I wouldn't class her as 'nice'. Getting her tits out, wetting the bed, getting pissed every night, shouting her head off at people and playing up to her GS character a LOT.

Me? Out of the two options I prefer mean but entertaining. But my favorite type of HM's are those that start out with faults but gradually go on a journey and somewhat change for the better when they're out of the house. Like Gina from BB14. She started off a selfish, rude, bitchy, lazy, snobby rich girl that literally didn't care for any of the other HM's. But she went on a journey in the house and realized what life was about, and was a much better person by the time she came out.

I dont want a housemate to be as 1 dimensional as the OP suggests. I like to see all sides to a HM.

Ideally though, I just want a HM to get involved.

I wasn't suggesting anything, I just wondered whether people regard politeness and niceness over an entertaining mean housemate. A hypothetical situation

For viewing purposes, the latter.

But I wouldn't like to live with the tosspots.

I like to watch entertaining, but I want nice to win. Not much help am I? A housemate can be both though.

There are a hell of alot on DS who want that to be fair.
Im not entirely sure they have grasped the fact that show actually has to be able to sustain decent viewing figures to stay on air.
