I agree, Lionel just wants to be popular with everyone. Hes on team A one minute and can switch to team B the next. Just like he can bitch about you one minute and shower you with compliments the next. He was so cosy with Jasmine at the eviction announcements, but was immediately all over Jim the minute it was announced he was saved. Jasmine has her faults of course, but from what I've seen of her shes far more honest and genuine with her opinions.

He also owned himself. Good result overall.

No-one owned anyone. Lionel HAD bitched about her behind her back. He tried to handle the situation with a weird kind of humour and embarrassment. Far better to apologise for hurting her. The eventual shouting at her , when he was cornered as he wouldn't apologise wasn't fully in humour either. I can't bear Jasmine but he did himself no favours at all. Cringeworthy. He's always been bitchy and a luvvie.

I thought it was fun too and reasonably good-humoured. But I do think Jasmine came across infinitely better than Lionel. I like her very matter of fact manner and her refusal to and total disinterest in getting all defensive and petty.

He has for sure. Way way back in the day whilst Lionel was on stage in a West End musical the scene shifters had had just about enough of what they could take of "Mr Blair". At the interval of a matinee they substituted straight vodka for water into a tumbler which Lionel was the drink from in the second act. Lionel swallowed the drink in one (as the script called for) and managed to get to end of the show. He was not best pleased ... NEVER upset the back-room boys

Agreed. Perhaps because of the pressure of the moment his response was inappropriate, and sensationalist.

What I saw was Jasmine asking Lionel the question repeatedly without getting an answer. After her last attempt, he made a big thing of cue-ing a supposedly 'final', and earth shatteringly 'honest' response by saying "You drove me absolutley f*ck*ng mad."

A complete avoidance of the issue in my view, which didn't look very good.

I thought it was a bit schizo to be honest. One minute he's charm personified, then he's angry out of nowhere, then in a flash he's charming again. He was like that in the house: a real Jekyll and Hyde.

Jasmine has been a bit of an ice queen since she came out. Not sure what that's about.

Is it just me or did Jasmine seem a little subdued on BOTS ? Even when she was pushing Lionel for some answers she came across like that.

It was awful. He's perfectly entitled to his own opinion's of her but why couldn't he simply apologise for hurting her feelings?

Lionel hid himself well, I think the glimpses of the nasty vicious foul mouthed Lionel we saw is the REAL him, he was a shocking revelation on "The Farm"!! I can remember being stunned at how nasty he was. over-rated z lister IMO, this "national treasure" malarkey makes me sick in my mouth.

I'm team Jasmine too. She would have driven me absolutely potty in the house with her antics - however she always seemed frank and straight in her approach to people. She would say it how it was and be assertive with people - rather than horrible.

Lionel however verged on unhinged at times. That sick smiley face that he put on and then the possibility that he could "turn" any moment was a bit frightening. He would turn from sweetness to real aggression and anger at the drop of a hat.

Massive ego - massive need to be adored but also very very two faced. Slagging off people behind their backs and then being so desperate to make up with them.

CBB is not the place to try to hide your true self. The public don't like fake and that's why he's out.

She was being incredibly petty. She had a go at him on the phone the day before and carried it on in BOTP and wouldn't drop it. He completely shut her down and she was dumbstruck and didn't recover until Lionel graciously pulled her back in.

BIB - agree. Certainly put paid to the 'charming, loveable old trooper' image he was trying to peddle. An unhinged and bitter man with a huge ego is the impression he's left with me. Easily the least likeable HM from this series, and that's quite an achievement.

Don't imagine that's the title he hoped to come out of CBB with.

What annoys me the most, is that he can say what he likes and the reaction is always going to be 'awww bless! I love Lionel!' Imagine if Jasmine had shouted at Lionel in the same way? Somehow I don't think it would be taken as a legendary comment as it seemed to be with Lionel...there would be complaints about Jasmine showing Lionel no respect, being a rude cow etc. Jasmine knows he plays to the crowds for effect, trying desperately to do the right thing to keep him popular, and was refusing to rise to the bait.

Jasmine was awful on BOTS all she did was sulk. She didn't offer any useful information. I was wondering if she had a terrible hangover or something. She was so rude and unresponsive. Good for Lionel, he really is Mr Showbiz.

I thought Jasmine came across better than he did. At least she wasn't being two-faced.

It was hilarious, Lionel was trying to be kind but she pestered and pestered him to tell her why he said things behind her back. He tried to be diplomatic until he let her have it, Because you drive me up the f ing wall. She was left open mouthed after that.

I think Jasmine thinks she can say it, yet Lionel shouldn't because he is old.

You reap what you sow, Jasmine and it was truly your turn to get some back at you, you nasty nasty odious excuse for a woman.
