That was my understanding as well, that Lionel said he had heard Casey say something when he was on his way out of the house, and that the apology he gave was because he misheard it. Nothing to do with what Casey has or hasn't said to Lee.

This tread is about what the production team told Lionel -- about one particular thing Lionel had been told (presumably by Lee, though even that doesn't seem to be clear) -- not the general question of whether Lee lied about something.

I'd just like to be clear on what the production staff have supposedly checked.

this is what lionel said on bots: "I was told in the house by a certain person that Casey said a certain thing. I came out and I was informed by the production team that was not so."

now, what does "I was told in the house by a certain person" mean if it's about what he heard Casey say firsthand?

again, in case you missed it, the quote is: "I was told in the house by a certain person."

By saying it like that I was trying to emphasise that I'd watched all the footage, and that there was nothing heard or seen that could be that conversation.

But the footage shown is fairly comprehensive, as you see them from when their names are announced, walking up the stairs and walking down the outside steps, and you can hear what they are saying. Even when they are behind the closed doors you hear what she says ("I feel sick").

When they are walking down the steps off the stage and going down to the bolthole, Lee goes first and Casey follows a couple of seconds later, so I doubt they speak at that point. But of course we can't be sure.”

Thanks. That tells me what I wanted to know about that footage.

It looks like a lot of people are assuming that, since we know Lee has claimed Casey said why couldn't you play along (or words to that effect) on the stairs, that that must be what Lionel was talking about and consequently must be what BB has checked.

But that's just an assumption. There's been nothing that shows it's correct.

Indeed, it's not even clear whether the "certain person" who told whataver it is to Lionel is Lee rather than, for instance, Luisa -- however, the assumption that it was Lee seems more likely to be correct.

Does anyone remember that Sunday morning they were doing a "walk through" for the BBLB programme and didn't realise they were live.

I gave an example earlier (I think in post #55) of a questionable claim from BB/C4 to Ofcom that something hadn't been said in CBB5.

I don't believe Lee for a single second of the day, However, I object to the production team insisting something didn't happen when they can't be sure.

I'd be dubious that they would hear everything even when the HMs are miked up and on camera.

I don't think those of us questioning it are trying to "build a case against Casey" or defend Lee at all.

We just find it 1) a bit odd for BB to insist it didn't happen when they can't be sure 2) a bit suspicious that they'd do so when they are usually quite happy to be ambiguous at times and not resolve it for us despite not allowing us live feed to resolve it ourselves.

I didn't believe Lee to begin with. Everyone is saying she could have said it under the duvets, please then tell me why did Lee say she said it coming down the eviction steps? It's not captured on the eviction video. Why did he apologise to her for hurting her, because that doesn't fit with her telling him it was a game. I didn't need the production team to tell me anything, Lee said it himself every time he contradicted his original lie.
