Not everyone would mention they felt suicidal. The ones that do are more likely attention whoring than genuine. People try and put on a brave face to everyone else and don't want sympathy.

You don't actually need to be depressed to be suicidal.

She obviously wasn't receiving positive response as she has only recently blocked it.

I agree; they do live in Blackpool, so there must be plenty of work there. Not showbiz admittedly, but work all the same.

Gosh, it's a tough one. Hard to know HOW depressed she was/is, when she wanted to die and whether actual suicidal thoughts were had, just because Colleen said it. I've been in a similar place and wanting to die can be very fleeting and comes when you're at your lowest ebb, and the depression can peak then subside with hope and happiness sneaking in. It's not an absolute fixed position, is what I'm saying. It varies in intensity with distraction being an excellent tonic.

But if she went into that house with serious depression and suicidal ideation, her family should have talked her out of it, and the BB team should have done a better job of vetting her. But we just don't know if that's the case. If much of her depression relates to career, loneliness or money then CBB could actually help her. She doesn't seem miserable ALL the time in there, but she's certainly been quite dour and irritable for some of it.

I guess it's possible she's a tough old broad who said "no, I'm doing this. I need the money and I need something to jolt me out of this place" but it's a risk I wouldn't have taken. Coming out to deafening boos might be terrible if she's fragile. If she is that fragile, I'd rather she left by the back door after a proper chat with a BB shrink.

You must be looking at the wrong account, it's @NolanColeen and it has a blue tick by it.

Thank you Scarlet for your reply.

I do think that it is odd that Coleen is saying she wants Jim to argue and not walk away and her son is calling him a pussy for not arguing but then on the other hand says it could push Linda over the edge.

Sorry if I offended you before.

"Attention whoring"?? What a specularly non compassionate and unempathic thing to say. Telling someone you want to die is a cry for help, and attention is most certainly needed, not 'whored'. It takes a great deal of misery to say those words out loud whether you actually intend to follow up on it or not. It's not uncommon for folk to wish they were dead but have no real desire to kill themselves. Sometimes the only thing anchoring a person in the world is fear of the actual dying part if they tried to kill themselves or not wanting to devastate their loved ones. This I know for a fact.

I've had those words spoken to me by more than one person and wouldn't DREAM of doing anything less than giving that person as much love and help as they needed.

Agree. I think it's clear she's been through a bit of a bad patch but she seems, rows with Jim aside, quite upbeat imo. And as you say, regardless of whether she needed the money or not, which she plainly does, I doubt if she were depressed to the point of feeling suicidal, she'd have gone in.

Coleen needs to button it and stop trying to make Linda out to be a victim. It's not a good look and won't do her any favours.

Absolutely Kay. It takes a real man to walk away, and it just shows how poisonous those Nolans really are.

I agree.

The whole thing is so wrong.

If it is not behind the scenes Jim could have Coleen Linda and whoever the other person is at him.

Shameful and all this for a TV show.

Ballcocks!
The last thing anyone would do is let their sister go on a tv show knowing how BB messes with the housemates heads...I have sympathy for anyone with any kind of mental illness, It's not only tacky but also disgusting to me the level these Nolans will stoop to get any kind of attention, Their mentality seems to be, Bad Attention is better than No attention at all!

No worries.

I've struggled to like Linda in the house but then I've also struggled with loved ones who've been miserable. It can suck all positivity and energy out of you. But I know how irascible, irritable and bloody exhausted it makes a person. And if I'm in a better stronger place than them, it's easier for me to just be tolerant than it is for them to snap out of it.

But as I said, Linda doesn't look like she's in the midst of a deep, unfailing depression. She looks like she comes in and out of it. Unhappy sometimes, happy in others. Much like Jim actually. He seems to 'get this' about her.

IMO! this is just the kind of action I expect from a Nolan, why would a sister who in her words was treated so badly by Julie when she was in the house let a suicidal sister go in? the whole family are as bad as each other

I agree that Coleen should button it, but then I always found Coleen's willingness to share her own woes with the nation distasteful. Her, Natalie Cassidy etc just seemed to profit from their own misery. I was surprised to find myself liking Coleen in the house and not seeing her as the melodramatic misery guts I'd assumed she would be.
