Why does Jim never argue with the men? Or act condescending to them?

I've said it's not the same, and explained why I made the Glitter reference - to rubbish the idea that, no matter what a HM has done in the past, it counts for nothing in the house. Of course it does, particularly in CBB, particularly when the offence was heinous, and, as I said, particularly when there are suspicions that the HMs behaviour hasn't actually changed as much as they (and their fans) would have us believe.

You didn't respond to my reply about the whole "oh he's from a different time thing" either , just quoted at me from a dictionary , if anything , you won't respond when the reply isn't to you liking , just saying

I definitely noticed that when he was in the living room complaining about the noise, when Dappy apologised because it was him AND Luisa, Jim said something like "not you mate" it was Luisa.

Whether this is to avoid conflict with his friend Dappy or because he's less tolerant of Luisa because she annoys him, or whether he has different tolerances for boys than girls none of us can know for sure.

There's no doubt in my mind that he's 'a mans man' and that his favoured females in the house are the less outspoken ones. But that's not unique to his generation. Hmmm, that being said, he has a soft spot for Casey but didn't stick up for her when Lee was ranting to him. Instead he played it like he was Lee's friend. I don't know what to conclude.

what, like the stupid women who don't shut up when Jim threatens them with the belt?

Your lack of reply (except to repeat yourself) to my reply to you, tells me everything I need to know here.

But it wasn't targeted they were outside having fun then went into the bedroom. Jim didn't want to go to bed because of the racket. When he entered the bedroom Luisa made a joke about him looking like the grim reaper which Jim didn't like. No targeting going on just most of the HM's having fun & one person not.

He's so condescending to the women but always respectful to the men , is this is inner chauvinist coming out?”

Find it impossible to make a judgement on your statement as the guys in there don't seem to make any issues that irritate him and the only people Jim has been irked with are the normal culprits = Luisa/Jasmine Etc...Sam and Casey who are more affable seem to get on with Jim at least to his face

It's not so much targeted in my opinion as they just don't accept Jim as their lord and master and therefore don't bow to his wishes over the wishes of other HMs.

He seems as if he's used to things revolving around what he wants and other people not having different opinions.

Weirdly he seems to expect a lot of gratitude when he does the cooking or washing up too, like he thinks him mucking in with the rest is a big deal.

Well if you had enough time to look up the definitions of words then you could have actually replied to my post , but obviously you're not obligated to

Well last night Dappy was making just as much noise as Luisa and it was all "ooh it's not you it's her" and as someone pointed out he never defends Casey to Lee even though he's meant to like her

I think Dappy and Lee are every bit as noisy and boisterous as Jasmine and Luisa were, but with Dappy and Lee for some reason it's ok.

Exactly , Lionel did things on purpose to annoy Jim as well ( like making up with Luisa in front of him ) in fact he was more blatant about it then Luisa or Linda ( in that he'd say that's what he was doing )

Well, considering the whole point of this thread was to discuss why Jim is so lenient in his attitude towards the guys as opposed to the girls it's hardly surprising they wouldn't have (or, at least, express) much of an issue with him.

Then, when we remember that two of the guys in question are Dappy and Lee, who'd attitudes towards women are only slightly more modern than Jim's it's even less surprising.

There's no real question as to whether Jim is sexist as he has said that he is so he will treat men and women differently. However there is something else going on here that I've noticed and that is the men seem overly keen to placate and suck up to Jim. Dappy and Lee certainly, which has the consequence of allowing Jim to forgive their transgressions.

I'm not totally sure what that is about tbh but I've seen this kind of thing play out before on BB.

No it's just that you raised the point about labels like "homophobe" "sexist" , which is actually an interesting topic, but then backed off it , no need to be so sarcastic and rude

Yet the thought of Jim throwing his wife down the stairs doesn't deter you from supporting him...

I'm waiting for "but he hasn't done that in the house" or his past is not relevant. He was very keen to make Linda's past relevant.

It was your post and it wasnt about tags ..interesting or otherwise .. so i kept to the subject. If i wanted to discuss tags i wouldve started a new thread and not hijacked yours. I was being polite but then you and mr radical started being rude and personal so i politely explained why and offered a possible solution for you both. Take it how you please.

Dappy apologised as he understood that making loads of noise was not fair to everyone else. Dappy at least ceases when requested.....Luisa does it regardless...indeed it spurs her on to make more noise for a reaction.

When was I rude? I just didn't agree that people should be excused for being homophobic or sexist just because they're old , I never was rude to you , and I still haven't been

As have his fans, of course. it beggars belief we've got people on here using the fact Linda claimed benefits or was married to someone who stole from someone else against her, yet cry foul when they're reminded they support a serial wife-beater.
