The overuse of the word "vile"

Why is the word "vile" thrown around so easily here? It's such a harsh word it really doesn't aply to many( if any ) housemates on what is really meant to be an entertainment show , I don't know why but it just seems so over the top

You are 1000% right. It's massively overused, clearly by people with limited vocabulary that don't know how else to express that they don't particularly like someone.

I agree it is overused. Although In my perception it seems to have been used less this season than usual. Although perhaps I am just a bit more selective about the threads I choose to access so I am not seeing so many of the more spiteful, hateful posts.

Yeah it is slightly better, I remember a few years ago you'd do well to find a single post that didn't contain "vile".

'vile' 'pathetic' 'hate' 'sociopath' and 'bully' seem to be overused and misused here a lot. that tells us something about ourselves, i guess ...

Vile is a word which I think is more appropriate to describe somebody who has committed evil and atrocious acts.

I don't even think I've used it to describe a person on here. I might have, but I don't think I have.

Exactly! I just think it's so over the top and I can't really take it seriously when people call Linda or Jim or Luisa ( or whoever ) "vile" because really none of them have committed any crime in there

I actually think it's because thick people think it sounds clever
