In the fresh meats aisle in supermarkets, they sell chicken wings whole. So, the inedible tip, the flat part and the drumstick part all still together.

When you buy chicken wings from a restaurant or a takeaway, the flat bits and the drumstick bits are seperated and the tips discarded. I know you can buy them like this in the frozen section but these are covered in flavours and stuff and I don't want that.

I want to make my own buffalo wings from scratch but really cannot be bothered spending half an hour hacking up chicken wings.

I'm going out on a limb here, but maybe ask the butcher at the supermarket. Explain to them what you're looking for, they might be able to open up a pack and redo them for you.

or go to a butcher.

Really though, if you have a decent knife or cleaver then it takes hardly any time to chop them up. They have natural seams.

I buy whole wings and it takes a matter of seconds to cut off the tip, not half an hour!

Such a chore!
You could make chicken stock with the discarded pieces of wing.
That's another chore though

I've made this for the last two Christmases - a week before and freeze it.

I get a pack of wings from Sainsburys and throw them all in.
It's superb (star anise not essential).
After you've drained the gravy you can spend a pleasant few minutes nibbling meat off the discarded wings

Not all butchers are good, nor do they have a varied selection in my town. The supermarkets have greater variety.

Some butchers also have weird opening hours when most people are working.
