Why is Jim so popular?

He seems to be topping the polls, but I really don't understand.

Can someone clear this up for me?

Based on the show, he's a mediocre man, a bit scared of women. Not particularly funny or nice, but not by any means the worst we've seen over the years.

I don't understand his popularity.

He may not be the nicest HM but
a) he is by far the most intriguing and complicated one; how much of what we see is the "real" Davidson?;
and
b) Linda and her coven's picking at him has led to sympathy for his situation.

IN THE HOUSE he has been constantly provoked and shown remarkable restraint in keeping his temper.
The show is based on WHAT HAPPENS IN THE HOUSE.
A lot of the others have behaved like complete immature two-faced prats.
What don't you understand for god's sake?

He seems to have the ability to have various issues which revolve around him....even though he doesn't really have that much input into them...mostly. He's entertaining via his various sideshows. I can only assume it's his fame/infamy which causes others to latch on to him in one way or another.

I admit it's puzzling tbh.

he's a victim of bullying apparently .

Linda's grudge match against him backfired, she's handed the win to him on a platter.

That's your explanation of why people are voting for him??

Linda is just awful, I think, but Jim was popular from day one.

There is an element of truth to that.....he had the most to lose in that regard.

Yes, but I can see by your sarcastic reply YOU don't agree.

No one wants to see constant harassment of a person who, Imo, is only there to enjoy the experience of being in the BB house........and despite this Mr Jim has shown considerable restaint throughout......Well done him!!!!

You asked for answers? Then when people answer you laugh? How rude!

I like him a bit, but I don't want him to win. He's too moody though, which is one thing I don't like about him.

Does Linda have a coven?

Louisa and Jasmine seemed to wind Jim up with their noise but Linda wasn't a part of that. Who else is in the coven? Dappy? Lee? Sam? Ollie?

I'd love someone to list all the instances of Linda picking on Jim. I keep reading on here she's doing it constantly* so there must be a myriad of examples.

Things I like -

Comic timing
Useful advice and genuine concern for those he likes
Reading situations - like a chess player he's 3 moves ahead of most of the others (apart from the Frank C thing)
Ability to walk away from circular arguments or pointless, random provocation
Self mockery

I think the root of his problems in there are control issues hence the clashes with Louisa and Linda - also controlling people.

Rude or just very immature.

Ok, good answer. I sort of get it more now.

Sorry to laugh!

It just wasn't a very good explanation of why people are voting for him. 'Because he's being got at'.

He's very controlling and a bit of a bully. However, he also has self-control, self awareness (a sadly lacking quality amongst most of the others), he's articulate and well informed and has a black sense of humour and the expected comic timing. I also think he is playing a brave game - not just sitting on the fence never articulating an opinion on anything or too frightened to disagree with the majority - and I admire that, even if I am not sympathetic to some of his views.

Far from it. He's in there to rehabilitate himself and rebuild his profile, which has been trashed by the allegations against him. He is on his best behaviour, no doubt about it. I'm hoping that Carol McGiffin was right on BBOTS last night when she said that he will eventually blow, and when he does it won't be pretty.

Personally, I wouldn't give the guy the time of day, but neither would I goad him. I imagine he would make a dangerous enemy.

I'm with you John its baffling. I think someone decided Linda had magic powers over the HM's (coven) & everyone else is running with it, so that they can all sing from the same hymn sheet. Nothing original is being said its just the same old line being repeated verbatim.
