Just wanted to say I thought Ray and Maria were amazing last night! In his first week he looked a bit rusty, but this time he was back on form - so sharp, groovy and funky, I loved it He even got some samba choreography in there! And Maria is such a great partner for him.

He seems divisive, but he's by far the best, even in a line up of ex-champions etc... he's just on another level-He actually dances on Ice and if he doesn't win then its an absolute travesty imo

I loved watching him and Maria last night, they're great together. Honestly thought he danced like a professional. Best dance of the night for me.

I thought they were great and I don't like Ray. However I think Kyran was just as good.

Loved Rays routine - probably the cleanest version of dance I've ever seen done to that song!

Yes, I agree. He's fantastic. The show is called Dancing on Ice, not Skating. On those terms, there's no one who can come close to Ray Quinn. He's the one contestant I really look forward to seeing and who leaves me wanting more. I can't see him not winning.

I don't like Ray, but I've always given him credit for his skating/performances and have never thought that he shouldn't have won.

Last night though, I thought Beth and Kyran gave much better performances. He's not been as good as he was in his series so far, but I think they're holding him back to make sure he doesn't peak too soon/become the obvious winner.

I do think he's got the competition in the bag, though... Unfortunately.

He does go from complacent to cocky in double quick time, but if he's the best ice-dancer, he still deserves to win despite aspects of his character that are not agreeable.

I have to admit, even though I don't like him I did enjoy the performance, It wasn't worth the marks it got though, Beth's was by far the cleanest skate and was just beautiful but gotta give credit where credit is due, he stepped up from Week 1.

I think he managed some cha cha cha locks right at the beginning too.
Ray Quinn would be the ultimate "ringah" if he appeared on SCD - he was a national champion in ballroom and latin as a child!
He did dance well incorporating the CCC and samba. I think I preferred Beth's routine last night though.

Ray is super talented - A triple threat (singer, dancer, actor). I remember him in Brookside. He has grown into a very good all-rounder! A lot of people misplace his confidence for arrogance. He manages to excel at most of the things he takes on so why not be confident?

Exactly. Is it not a fairly typical British attitude though? Anyone who is super confident must be slapped down in the name of mediocrity!!

I normally hate over confident people but I dont find Ray over confident. He is brilliant at what he does and for me he isnt cocky. This is an all star series and he should be the winner at the end of because he is the best skater/dancer there.

Just watched last night's show and Ray & Maria were simply superb.

This series though has the potential to deliver lots of entertaining routines, even if not technically great.

Hopefully Ray & Maria can continue to be both!

I dont find Ray overconfident at all.
To perform like he does on the ice you would have to be confident.
Shrinking violets just wont do it!

He comes across as confident, happy, enthusiastic and loving skating...I like him!

But whether I liked him or not - I would always want the best skater to win and (for me) he is way above all the rest.

He "dances on ice" which is what the show is supposed to be all about...too many lifts and it becomes "pair skating"....

This years show is brilliant though because there are some really good skaters who are great to watch....but for me Ray stands out head and shoulders above the rest.

If he doesnt win it will be a travesty.

Loved the Blurred Lines routine - have watched it back so many times and its brilliant.

I realise this goes against the grain, but Ray kicks up a lot of ice and uses his toe picks to move over the ice on his toes a lot, ice dance in the true sense is more about using your edges and when you do use your toe picks it tends to be for things like twizzles. Suzanne last week and Beth this week were more in keeping with what I view as ice dance.

I won't add to the arguments about the song either though I will say that I felt it a bit unfair to dress a mature lady like Maria in such a hoochie manner, a;though I'm aware that it's in keeping with the song and the accompanying video - full marks to her for being a sport about it.

Ice dance in the true sense does not include overhead lifts tho either which is what Suzanne and Beth do amongst others so to be fair they are not doing pure ice dancing! Rays dancing combined with skating is in a different league to me. The celebs and pros also do not choose the music routines or costumes so to lay criticism on Ray or any other celeb on that front would be unfair IMO. Maria and any other performer would be used to having to wear costumes they may not like - I doubt Vicky wanted to skate dressed as a cat with a tail - but it's part of their job.

Personally I loved Ray and Maria's routine. I actually find him very enthusiastic keen and hardworking and determined to do the best he can. It also seems from Twitter and elsewhere he gets on really well with all the other competitors particularly Beth Suzanne Hayley and Kyran and if he were genuinely arrogant I doubt this would be the case!

There are three or four celebs I would have no problem winning but ultimately I would want the best overall ice dancer to win and in my view that would absolutely be Ray!

They pretty much all do that, including Ray and Maria. I'm talking about the ice of blades on the ice here. It's crowd pleasing what Ray and Maria do, I accept that.

My point was that you singled Ray and Maria out as not doing ice dancing in the true sense. My point is that none of them do! Ray and Maria's routine had no overhead lifts last Sunday - not surprising given their height differential and his stature - they all play to their strengths Kyran is far taller than his tiny partner so big lifts are a real strength. Beth can do lifts and positions others can't due to her background, Suzanne can do lifts and dance- I have no problem with any of that!

I am not disagreeing with your point just saying none of them are ice dancing in the competition sense.
