I don't think it is joke - the author of this thread was being deadly serious.

i think there is a difference between Eastenders fans and Eastenders fans who are Tweenies. The Tweenies are the ones who will have voted for (i haven't looked, but let me guess) something to do with either Alfie and Kat, or Shannis.

I was torn between "6 months to Live" and Barry and Janine, but opted for B+J. Before the "Three Witches" stuff recently, it was probably my most favourite plotline since "I am Your Mother", and IMO apart from Den+Chrissie, and bringing back the classic drunk, Lisa, was LB's only saving grace!

Tweenies or not - it's solid proof that most of the people who use that website are probably very young and have never watched the show more than a few years

Looking at that list of stories I can remember most of them, but it's made me realise how little I care for any of them. None seem that great.

It's eitehr one of two things:
(1) EE doesn't have any stroylines "top" that hold happy memories for me.
(2) the people who created that poll have a serious lack of understanding what I consider a good EE story line...there must have been some otherwise I wouldn't watch, but that list doesn't explain to me why I watched.

This is just my view and I'm sure there are plently of people who really liked all the stories on the lsit, but they just don't do anything for me. It was a real hard decision on who to vote for. Not becasue of too many choices but ebcasue of too few. There were only two or 3 I liked at all. I went for Little Mo fights back.

Yeah that was a great ep Will. It was in my top 5, but I went for "Merry xmas Ange" - that was priceless.

It is indeed a site for Tweenies. You only have to look at the crap on the homepage to know that. I hope JY sorts that website out as I'm sick of this great soap being marketed towards under 12's.

Sharongate was probably the best EEs has ever been.

I'd only just come back to the UK when that was all going on and its why i got into EEs in the first place.

Best dramatic moment of more recent times was 'You're Not My Mother'. Kat Slater at her very best.

I'm with you on this one. The tension within that scene was just explosive.

It was Sharongate for me to. It built for so long and the tension of waiting for Grant to get to 'that part' of the tape, and then playing it in the Vic - fab!

I used to love the EE Website, but over the last few years, since it was relaunched, it's not been the same - the messageboards are full of kids (thank gawd for this place!) and if your a long term proper EE fan, you can't get much in the way of classics - about 10 classic episode reviews from the 80's, 100 or so from the 2000's - you try searching for classic episodes from say 88 or 91 and theres hardly a thing. Same with past characters - their profiles are there, but it's hard to find them from the main menu.

That vote thing for the best epiosde is a joke - again the classics are mostly recent - 3 from the 80's - THREE!!! These were EE's glory years! If you ask me to nominate some best episodes I'd nomite REAL classics like...

The Eddie Royle Murder
Kathy's Rape
Lou's Death
Den & Angie in Venice
Arthur on Cat & Mouse
Clacton 89
Isle of Dogs 89
Andy's death
Nick Cotton get's warned off by Walford Residents 85
Petes stall gets demolished
Willmot Brown Returns
Ethel & Dot solo show 87
Ethel & Dot dance trip 92
Ethel & Dot say goodbye 2000
Frank's Car Lot Fire 94
Queen Vic Fire 92
Kenny Beale Returns 88
Ian - Cindy - Wicksey 1990
Kath/Phil in France 93
Pat runs down girl 92

All classics, all missed - what a joke

And that ruddy nail bar is still in the wrong place on the Walford map - it's that bad the News Of The World's magazine made the same mistake on Sunday by copying the 'official' site - putting it next to the Launderette - hopeless!

What an excellent post bronze bully. I fully agree with you. Although I have noticed recently that some Tweenies have registered on here, so it doesn't seem safe as they're everywhere!

Oh, I agree. That was good. Was his name Tom Watt's or something? He was such a good character. One minute you wanted to stick a rocket up his backside, and the next you just felt so sorry for the bloke. He looked like he was permanently on the brink of a breakdown.

Oh, the good ol' days of EE......

Yeah that was great. My 3rd favourite, and I've still got the ep on video.

Yes he was Tom Watt. He's now a TV/radio presenter. He does the sports shows on BBC London 94.9.

Absolutely right he was a great character. He's also a cockney by heart so EE was perfect for him.

Oh, the good ol' days of EE......
Yeah, I know

Back in that day, they did everything they could to prevent storylines being leaked. On this shoot, big vans were parked outside to keep press out & bright lights beamed into their lenses! Good old Julia Smith

Thesedays you know everything - imagine the shock & excitement if you didn't know Den was going to die & exactly how & what happens next. suppose its good they've not leaked the culprit though!
