your interpretation ? She said she didn't think that women should iron men's shirts in the same breath as she said Jim's a male chauvenist (will have to rewind it to check that I think so there's no recourse attack!)

But she is correct, women should not be obliged to iron their husbands, who have two hands of their own, shirts. If they choose to fair enough but it should not be a gender specific expectation.
Jim was specifying it as a wife's duty, Luisa found this chauvinistic, which it is. If Jim was not liked and people were not so biased in his favour he would not get away with these remarks.

These days both partners work so surely housework should be shared equally. In Jims opinion he can lounge after his days work but his wife must turn into another days work of ironing, cooking etc. The guy is a chauvinist and proud.”

I dont know but I'm betting she doesnt have a full time job

If interpretation means seeing it with my own eyes and hearing it with my own ears from the horses mouth as it were, then yes it IS my interpretation I suppose.
Be sure to watch the bit where Jim asks her if Luisa thinks that Jim's wife was in the wrong for ironing his shirts, and you shall find the answer you seek.

If he found it hard to get work, he would not iron he would still expect her to do it.

What little ironing gets done in my house is done by me. My lot would happily go out in un-ironed clothes, it wouldn't occur to them to get the iron out.

Who knows, I am speaking of his expectations regarding a wifes role in the house. It would interesting to hear his views if he was unemployed and she worked fulltime.I doubt they would be any different.
He admits himself he is a chauvinist.

I iron all my husbands stuff, he works long hard hours and I work part time so it's no big deal. He's also left handed and makes a real mess of anything he does try to iron. I did my sons till he moved out and now he does both his and his wife's ironing. Different strokes for different folks.

We wouldn't want them to embarrass us now would we?

Jim's wife Michelle - I'm sure she has a bone to pick with him when he exits after his In House CBB comments about her being nagging and moaning in their home.

"why the fk did you say that about me knowing it might be on air Jim???" I can hear it now

Anyone else but me think Jim was just playing with Luisa and just winding her up on purpose.
It was the ironing the sheets remark for me because most people(especially men) i know would say why the hell are you ironing sheets for.

I hardly iron anything and my husband realised long ago that the way my Mum taught me to iron shirts does not meet his exacting standards. He does his shirts on a Sunday. I feel a tiny bit guilty cos my Mum always did the ironing..

And maybe he wouldn't expect her to mow the lawn or take the rubbish out or move heavy stuff about. It's how he was brought up, it's how I was brought up, these days it doesn't happen for the youngsters, but you and Luisa seem to want to put all YOUR rules onto others, even when they're perfectly happy with how they do stuff. I'm sure that if his wife didn't want to do the ironing then he'd probably pay for it to be done.

Do you iron those razor sharp creases in the sleeves? because if you do I would be banning you from the iron also.

Do like I do and buy 95% polyester and 5% elastane, they never need ironing, just wash them on the wool wash and put them over the radiator Voila, no need to iron and you still look nice !

I iron the majority of the time for my husband but he cooks much more than me - marriage is a give and take. Not being able to compromise with someone may account for Luisa being alone well that and being a mardy cow.
