Although other media says that the council has no plans at present to enforce dogs on the lead in public places.

If they did that up here how am I supposed to exercise my dog?

Blackpool Council did this in most parks and open spaces last year. They also banned dog completely from some places, including parts of the beach and an area that was very popular with dog walkers.

Pity they don't ban smack heads, drunks, chavs and gangs from being in public places. I'd take 50 dogs over one of the above any day.

If dogs on a lead then cats on a lead as well. The mad cat lady next door has five of the blighters which being cats are free to roam and can therefore sick up on my lawn and crap in the flower beds with impunity.

Am I only one who thinks this is an excellent idea, I have two dogs myself but have no problem having them in leads in parks etc in fact if this was enacted round here I might use the parks more often.

I don't disagree with that idea either.

Cats aren't like dogs either. They can't be trained in the same way.

Personally I don't mind if a cat craps in my garden or throws up. I couldn't care. But I do feel for those who do.

And as you said. Why dogs and not cats.
