You haven't shown it at all though, have you?

Your putting down the show's lesser success to your opinion and conflating it with objective fact, hence the phrase "it's because of poor writing and casting decisions that followed"

On another note did you see Tennant on Jessica Jones, he was great.”

I do want to see it, Tennant looks great in it, but there's so many of those superhero shows now it's a chore to keep up with them. I'm still lost halfway through Agents of Shield and Gotham.

Definitely worth it once you get the time. One of the best shows for 2015

But then you posted the following:

Opinion or fact Lord Smexy? You seem to be mixing the two. Which is what you then happily accuse other forum members of doing.

But technically that is fact. As we know there are many people who only watched the show for Tennant and Matt Smith.

And the thousands of people giving crap to Capaldi because he is too old, they are the same casual viewer.

And is also part of the reason for less people watching the show, the casual viewers contain a lot of the population for any TV Show.

It's simple observation. Plenty of people have even acknowledged that they think the Doctor should be young, good-looking and bouncy. What are you getting at, exactly?

Also, who are these other forum members besides yourself?

Show me the audience research that shows it is a fact. Otherwise it's opinion.

Wait so you have been oblivious to the hate Capaldi has gotten?

Look around the internet and you will find out yourself.

It's not an observation, it's an opinion. Which is fine.

But a shame you accuse me of presenting my opinion as fact when you present your opinions in the same way. My point is you are a hypocrite and you need to stop criticising other forum members for doing something that you clearly do yourself.

You're still saying the exact same thing as before. I criticised you for what was blatantly-obviously not given much room to be taken as an opinion so much as something you feel is a certain truth whatever others think. You only keep referring to my statement about Tennant's precedent which not only is an obsversation but of which the only opinions given without a differentation between were clearly presented as my own thoughts anyway.

Saying you've seen stuff on Twitter doesn't prove Capaldi's Doctor is unpopular with viewers because they're wedded to the idea of a young Doctor because of Tennant and Smith. Happy if that's your opinion, but it is an opinion.

He definitely hasn't been as popular as the others because casual viewers are what makes up a lot of viewership of any show.

You can't really have an opinion that someone else's opinion is something it isn't ("savvy?").

Again, that's your opinion of my post not a fact.

My opinion is that you should review the content of your own posts before criticising others.

Sorry to disagree with you Lord Smexy on a night when we've had wonderful news about Chris Chibnall taking over the show.

But hopefully I've given you something to think about regarding your future posts.

My personal feeling is that his Doctor hasn't gelled with viewers. I'm unconvinced that's an age issue though. More that he's been written as less likeable than his predecessors.

Sorry, you've only made me wonder how much one can question the definition of opinion.

It's like trying to argue "in my opinion Robespierre really admired King Louise XVI for his love of food and was only frustrated with his leadership because he didn't invade Mars"

Wonderful news to you maybe, but not to everyone. I fear that I will see what the forums look like from your side of the fence come 2018 (I'm joking, sort of, hopefully it will all be OK, eek!)

I know but fingers crossed! I think a big part of the success of Chibnall's Who will be the Doctor/companion relationship. If they can crack that, they'll be 80% the way there. And maybe the show and the Doctor will be winning those NTAs again.

Did no one see me segue this thread back onto topic?

There are more things like this out there, look at the poll and the comments, there is a trend.

And that was after just three episodes! I felt there was clearly an attempt this season to soften his character. Sadly a million and a half viewers had already switched off. Maybe he'll win them back in season 10!

I agree with this Doctor and Rose, and Martha and Donna were all great in their own right together I also loved The Doctor and Amy, Amy is the reason I love most of the Moffat era but that might be because we watched her grow up start to finish.
