Ok I think we need a little reminder of how things are working now:

This game differs from its predecessors in that it has old and new sections, includes Hurt and Capaldi, and has a double hurt rule that comes into play when the number of candidates falls to a given level. The pool of available players may be the same, but the participation is not (I, for instance, am trying the experiment of playing - more or less - daily, instead of dipping in occasionally). In any case, I think the interest lies more in the process than the result.
