Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the Shelly- Charlie stuff is being milked and I hate Fred the only good thing is Blanche it seems as though she is carrying the show on her own.

You hate Fred?!!! Fred's a brill character. But I agree not a lot went on tonight. Too much Ashlaire for my liking (Ashley and Claire).

I thought Eileen was fab tonight, I loved the scenes between her and Steve and her and Sean

I also loved Steve's impression of Tracy

And Blanche was great tonight: "What's the matter with you, you look demented" and "That winter sun would have done wonders for me bones"

Fred and Norris were fab too!

I thought it was a good episode, except for Shelley/Charlie, I found that a bit boring.

Even when Corrie is quiet it's always entertaining for me. The scripts are always great. However, as good as they are, the drama does need injecting now. I think on Sunday, Violet and Charlie are left alone and then on Monday, Katy/Martin/Tommy go into overdrive and it is badly needed IMO.

Also, Tracy is always being told how bad a mother she is but Steve is a worse father I think. Last year he was spending more time with Amy but now he dreads it again. I did feel sorry for him when the divorce papers arrived though. Even though he didn't say much, you could see he was hurt. I thought that was a good little bit of acting.

Another good ep tonight.

Loved the card game, Fred is one superb character and always makes me laugh, he's one of my favourites and should always remain in Corrie!

Shelley & Charlie were OK, it was good to see Charlie forgetting the rubbish made up story of his "brother" Eddie he told Shelley before.

Elieen was good today as was Steve, where he made fun of Tracey was funny.

Also loved Blanche as usual.

Blanche strikes again - I'm not going to any foreign country.

Ken & Deirdre can't afford to go to Majorca now so no-one can go.

Blanche hits back - the sun would have done wonders for my bones and you've gone and spoiled it for me!!!

Another cracker

Blanche was very good tonight, as per usual

Ashlaire lol not a fan of these two, would prefer their storylines be kept to minimum.

No Sally the slapper which was a welcome relief.

Gail and Sarah arguing in the Street "Then maybe we won't go to your house" Ohhh here we go, Sarah Lou has another boyfriend, time to fall out with Gail. Glad they made it up though, too repetitive if these two fell out again.

Not much happening overall though, the odd funny line from Blanche and Fred.

Oh and Eileen was fab, give this woman a storyline please! Why she is sidelined for the likes of Slapper Webster and KayEe an Mahhhtin, is beyond me, she's an absoloute gem.

Loved Sean talking about the bingo, he's so funny

Nice episode. Blanche spot on as always, it's nice to see the writers obviously value her and play to her strengths, just wish they'd do the same for the wonderful Eileen. The card school little sub plot made me laugh, Emily the card shark, who'd have thought and Sean is an absolute cutie.

Simon G is always so good, poor Steve . That scene entirely ruined though by Kate Ford gurning YET AGAIN, her only reaction seems to be to bare her teeth and look smug. She and Steve must NEVER get together, she cannot even get past his ankles in acting terms.

(Re the OP's comment about Steve be a 'bad father' we haven't seen him much lately but in relation to taking Amy for a week, it would be difficult for him. Unlike Tracy he has to work for a living, and doesn't live with three relatives which are on tap to help out.)

Am not enjoying Charlie and Shelley - well done, but becoming tedious and also I think too dark a topic to keep banging away at on for so many months.

Loved the scenes at the Barlows and the card game. As you say PP, the scripts are so good which makes even filler eppys so watchable.

I'm hating the Charlie and Shelley storyline now, its boring, she's a dope and he's a freak, he's a thourougly unlikeable character anyway but its making me like Shelley less and less.

I thought it was a good episode last night. Steve is brilliant - especially where him and Tracy were in the pub and she was whinging about not going to Spain!

I think the slow build up with Shelley & evil Charlie is good as it makes it more believable.

Fred Elliott is just magic!

Yeh Will I always disliked Charlie from the start and dreaded his screen time.

With Shelley, what worries me is that they are risking ruining her character (makes a change from Easties ) - because she just looks so weak and silly. If this is going on till september that will be nearly a year of her being downtrodden, abused, manipulated and simpering at Charlie. I don't see how she can recover from that - not after what happened with Peter too. But maybe the writers will surprise me.

I thought it was a good episode last night, Blanche seems to be in it more and more, which is fantastic. Minus Kate Ford, No.1 Coronation Street probably has some of the best actors/actresses which are around today

Eileen/Sean/Card Plot, all fantastic

Just noticed that pconno1 has been banned??? When did this happen? He wasn't my best friend or anything but what did he do to deserve a ban?

I am shocked that Ken, who reads a lot, was unaware of the problems in the pensions industry.
