Opening todays show please give it up for Myk (ChickenFromKiev) & Alexandra Schaumann …………………

Country: Iceland

Song: 'This Is My Life' by Euroband (2008)

Male Outfit: The male will be wearing a blue lycra shirt, which has many white sequins coming from the v-neck collar. The blue is from the Icelandic flag, as is the white. Across the edges of the collar, it's white with a few sequins with the Icelandic flag on them across. On the short sleeves, there is a red cross in the Icelandic flag style. Across the cuffs, there are more sequins with the Icelandic flag on them. Also, there is a faint red cross across the whole shirt, accompanied by the faint white details. However, they're more of a watermark than a mark in itself. The shorts are just plain Icelandic blue with a few regular sequins across the bottom. Finally, the skates are Icelandic blue with a red cross like the flag.

Female Outfit: The female will be like this, however, there are many changes. To start, the base colour is Icelandic blue instead of white, with the sequins being white, instead of the darker colour they are. Then, the purple is changed to the white of the sequins, but has hints of red in. Also, in her hair, the band isn't purple, it's blue. Finally, the skates are white with a few hints of blue.

Connor: 4.0
Dean: 3.5
Izzie: 3.5
Jas’: 3.0
Nick: 4.5

Izzie: 'With the changes of rhythm through the song, I think you really managed to create an impressive performance. The costumes walk a very thin line between serious and novelty, but you just about got away with it. Great song though.'

That gives them 18.5

Also hoping to impress next, it’s Niall (_NiallDEE_) & Brianne Delcourt ……………

Country: Denmark

Song: 'A Moment Like This' by Chanee and N'Evergreen

Male and Female Outfits: The outfits will follow a red and white colour scheme to reflect the Danish flag. The female will initially be wearing a sleeveless ball gown type dress with a red top half and a white bottom half that goes right up to above her skates. The top half and bottom half will be made out of different material, with the top half being made out of a more typical ice skating material and covered in sequins. The bottom half will be more material of a typical dress, and will be disposable. The first verse will mostly involve solo skating from the male and only basic skating from the female so the impracticality of the bottom half won't matter, but it will be used to give the dance a more classy, romantic feel from the offset. The bottom half will be ripped off just before the chorus to make way for big lifts and more complex skating. The male outfit will involve typical straight fitting white trousers, with a long sleeved shirt being used for the top half - the shirt will be predominantly red but with a white shirt going down the middle in the place where the buttons are.

Connor: 4.5
Dean: 4.0
Izzie: 3.0
Jas’: 3.0
Nick: 3.0

Dean: I like this a lot. If I'm honest I think the outfits are a little plain, I would prefer a bit more glitz about them. It's eurovision theme, and eurovision is out there! But on the whole they aren't bad, and the song isn't an obvious choice but works!

So that gives them a total of 17.5

Next to face the judges with their routine, please welcome onto the ice, Tom (hownwbrowncow) & Frankie Poultney …………

Country: Serbia

Song: 'Nije Ljubav Stvar' by StvarŽeljko Joksimović from Serbia's 2012 entry.

Male Outfit: The male will wear a black t-shirt, with a white blazer/jacket, call it what you will, on top. He will wear black trousers, and black skates.

Female Outfit: The female will wear something like this:
Except, it will be armless, and she will have a v-neck which reveals some black material behind, to mirror my costume. She will also have a black belt going round her waist. She will have sashes which attach on to her arms with straps at her elbows and wrists, and some of it will flow off the end, like a train for a dress.

24-01-2014
Connor: 3.0
Dean: 3.5
Izzie: 2.5
Jas’: 2.0
Nick: 2.0

Nick: I'm very torn on this performance. The costumes lacked any "wow" which is crucial as we approach the later stages of this competition. The song was a bit flat but getting a Serbian song must be hard and even harder when it's from Eurovison. It was an okay attempt and the costumes needed reasoning and a bit more detail.

That gives them a total of 13.0

Hoping they can reach the high scores now, please give it up for Jamie (DingDong08) & Nina Ulanova …………

Country: Greece

Song: 'OPA' by Giorgos Alkaios and Friends

Male Outfit: The male is wearing a tight vest, which is coloured a deep purple to represent the modern, somewhat camp take on the routine. This vest is covered in multiple beads and stones, coloured either ocean blue or sparkly white, and is tucked into a pair of matching purple Bollywood-style trousers which travel down to the bottom of the legs (seeing as that will be the theme of the routine - Bollywood in the 21st Century). Patterned all over the trousers are traditional Indian symbols in dark blue and white sequins, the same as the vest. The skates are a plain white, so as not to make the outfit look too over the top. However, there are randomly-placed sequins all over these, again coloured blue and purple to carry through the rest of the routine. Painted on the male's forehead is a bindi, which is the spot typically found on the forehead to add some authenticity to the costumes, while his hair is slicked back a little, to keep it looking fairly neat.

Female Outfit: The female is wearing a dress, which travels down to the bottom of the knees and is predominately a dark purple, to complement the theme. The bodice is, like the male's vest, covered in many dark blue and silver (instead of white, to provide contrast between the male and female) stones over the top, although these are mainly covering the chest area. The dress is cut with two thin straps, coloured silver, while the main part of the bodice is actually cut like a crop top - the stomach area of the dress has been cut out (as a result, the part where the chest ends has been decorated with blue and silver fringing), but the back part of the dress is still intact, so as not to give away too much skin. The skirt part is fairly loose, and, along with the typical blue-and-silver sequin decoration, has two thin lines travelling round the very bottom of it - these are coloured a dark blue and silver, to match the rest of the outfit. The skates are the same colour as the male's, while her hair is entirely held up in a high bundle by a pair of sparkly silver clips.

Connor: 4.5
Dean: 2.5
Izzie: 5.5
Jas’: 4.5
Nick: 5.0

Dean: I loved it I really did. BUT as specified it had to resemble the performance you picked, and this didn't! No greek theme for the country, and no relation to their performance. I'm sorry. Any other round it would score highly for me!

That gives them both 22.0, the highest of the night so far

Hoping they can impress the judges and the voting public next, it’s Rhian (RhiBi) & Daniel Whiston ………….

Country: Norway

Song: 'Nocturne' by Secret Garden.

The outfits I'd like myself and partner to wear are:

Female Outfit: A beautiful, elegant flowing dress in a gorgeous shade of pale blue. The skirt part would be of a very light fabric enabling it to flow as she sakes across the ice. The would be crystals clustered around the top of the dress and becoming more sporadic as they go down the dress. Her hair would be in a bun low down on the side of her head with a few crystals in her hair too.

Male Outfit: The male would wear a top in the same colour as his partner, again the crystal detail would be there mirroring her dress. His trouser would be a plain black trousers, keeping the look simple, but elegant.

Connor: 3.5
Dean: 2.5
Izzie: 2.5
Jas’: 3.5
Nick: 3.5

Jas’: A lovely song choice with adaqutley detailed costumes. It could be more detailed but it is still a good routine.

That leaves them with a total of 15.5

Our next couple onto the ice is Mitch (pothuthic) & Maria Filipov …………….

Country: Switzerland

Song: 'Vampires Are Alive' - DJ Bobo

Male Outfit: The male is wearing a purple sequin top which is tucked into the black trousers he is wearing, his skates are mainly black, but the laces are purple to signify the Vampire vibe, his face will be painted pure white with fake blood underneath his mouth, he will also be wearing fake vampire teeth and a black cape which reaches down to his knees, his hair will be slicked back

Female Outfit: The female will be wearing a purple sequin dress which reaches down to skirt length, her hair will be rough to signify that she is the vampires victim, there will be fake blood on her neck, towards the end of the routine she becomes a vampire due to him biting her, she is given false vampire teeth (the simple ones to put on from say ASDA or Wilkinsons), she is given a cape, which she puts on.

Connor: 3.0
Dean: 2.0
Izzie: 3.5
Jas’: 3.0
Nick: 4.5

Connor: The details within the costumes were well executed and suited the song choice. However, I thought the song choice was a little on the horrific side but to be fair to you, most Eurovision songs are! Sorry!

So that gives them a total of 16.0

And now closing the show tonight, please welcome onto the ice, JJ (justj) & Katie Stainsby ………………

Country: Sweden

Song: 'Waterloo' by Abba

Male Outfit: The male will be dress in a black top with crystals on and will have silver shoulder pads and silver elbow patches. The trousers will be three quarter length black with silver cuffs at the bottom of them. The skates will be silver.

Female Outfit: The female will be tight blue dress. The dress will end just above the knee. It will have a sequins all over with a blue light material on top of the dress. The female will also have blue stockings on. The skates will be a baby blue colour

Connor: 4.0
Dean: 4.5
Izzie: 2.5
Jas’: 2.0
Nick: 3.5

Connor: A fabulous routine to a fabulous song and nice but a little safe costumes to go along with it. I liked the routine but I need that bit more description within the costume to get those scores a little higher but a great effort.

That leaves them with 16.5

So now all of our couples have skated, let’s see how the leader board stands……………

LEADER BOARD

1. Jamie (DingDong08) & Nina – 22.0

5. Mitch (pothuthic) & Maria – 16.0
6. Rhian (RhiBi) & Daniel – 15.5
7. Tom (hownwbrowncow) & Frankie – 13.0

Such a tight leader board if you take into account the totals each couple have got. But, anything could happen after the public vote, particularly with tonight’s twist

Being Eurovision round, we have a Eurovision twist The classic ‘NIL POINTS’ will come into play

This means that when you vote you will simply select TWO couples to give NIL points to. In doing this, the other 5 couples will gain 3 points each.

So for example, you may choose to give NIL points to Niall & Brianne and Myk & Alexandra…………

The remaining couples will then gain 3 points each.

But it’s up to you who goes through to the next round

LINES ARE NOW OPEN. To vote please PM me the name of the TWO couples you would like to give NIL points. ANYONE CAN VOTE

Lines will close at 19:30 hours when I will return to deliver the results and we find out who faces the judges in tonight’s skate off

Whoops. And don't worry, Dean - as a judge, you had to stick to the rules (even if the others didn't ) so all's good.

Thanks to ALL the judges for your great marks again, and the best of luck to everyone for the results. I hate this twist, though, as nobody deserves a 0 in my eyes.
