I was watching the electric shock task episode from BB9 on the Big Brother's Big DVD yesterday, and it got me thinking, how would Rex have handled Luisa? Luisa comes across as very alpha female, whereas Rex was very alpha male, it would have been interesting to see how that dynamic played out!

Rex wasn't actually as "vile" as I remember him to be.

Watching back BB9 he was one of the few to show kindness to Steph in Week 1, is pretty much the only housemate who stands up to Alex in Week 2 and has a steady stream humorous observations in the weeks after.

But yes, Luisa is a good comparison although she's a lot more brazen with her dislike of someone than Rex ever was.

How on earth is Luisa an alpha female? She has no position of power within the house's social hierarchy.

I always thought Rex was a bit of a sad case, plenty there for Luisa to work with.

Rex was one of the best hms ever, not sure how he would have handled Luisa but it would have been fun to watch

Isn't there more to being an alpha female than just being loud and obnoxious? She has no power in the house at all, she's not a strong woman, most of her ideas are stolen from Linda, she appears to have few opinions of her own. She needs to have people on her side. That's not alpha!

Liz was way more alpha, she did her own thing, had her own opinions and didn't give two shits if people understood her or liked her. Luisa is a people pleaser, every thing she does is for attention, she'll irritate someone just to get their attention. Liz told that big brute she's stab him if he punched her horse. Now that's alpha! Luisa would have giggled or said something silly to him in her baby girl voice.

I liked rex,but he changed when they brought in his snotty nosed,high maintenance,bone idle user of a girlfriend.i hope he saw sense and got shut of that one.

Love Rex. He was kind, had a wicked sense of humour and basically didn't give a sh*t (but you're right, bringing that awful girlfriend of his in ruined it for him). However, personally, I think he would have wiped the floor with Luisa

I'm interested to know how you conclude that she is the most influential female housemate; one that all the other female housemates turn to, and look up to, as is expected of an alpha female. On the contrary, Luisa seeks approval in many of her arguments, particularly her run ins with Jim, where she's seen staring at Linda during the argument, waiting for a nod of encouragement.

I like Luisa, I think she's been a fantastic housemate and probably the most entertaining, but let's not paint her as something she isn't.

Rex, one of my favourite all time fave HM's, I think he would have been great with Luisa because although she's savvy she is a bit gullible at times and I think he'd have wound her up alot

Aww I loved Rex! I am beginning to have a turnaround on Luisa as I no longer dislike her as I did at the beginning. I don't want her to win but she has played the game well so I admire her for that. 2nd or third will be OK with me.

She'd have no doubt been a fully paid up member of the Whisper Club and have been given the boot in the first few weeks.
