Pierogi garnish
My local Tesco's just started shelving a whole new range of Polish peirogi*. Now, I know how to cook them (quick boil then saute in butter) but what I don't know is what kind of garnish or dip or sauce or whatever to serve them with. Any ideas?
*ie Big dumplings or giant-sized ravioli stuffed with various fillings. |

Sour cream (or soured cream) is lovely as a topping/dip for perogies. Also, bacon bits or spring onion. Whatever you think goes nice on a baked potato will usually taste good on a perogie.
Most perogies I've had are made with potato and cheese filling.

I agree - they are yummy with fried onions and bacon - with a dollop of sour cream.
Now I really fancy a plate of perogies..... ETA: oh and sauerkraut!! Yummmm. |

In the event I went for sour cream mixed up with horseradish and finely chopped spring onions - chives would probably have been better if I could have found them. Certainly worth trying again.
