Hey! Who cares about Grant & Phil coming back! Bring back Huw and Lenny! They were a funny double act (unlike Mints & Gazza) They wound up Ian Beale and others. Does anyone else remember them as favourably as I seem to??

I liked Huw, he made me laugh. Eastenders is missing people of that kind of age group at the moment...

Yeah I know. Now all they've got is people like Martin, Gus & Mickey. They need some more odd looking people.

They were part of the whole Britpop generation along with the likes of Tony, Simon, Mick, Tiff, Bianca, Ricky etc....

They might not work outside the 90's.

Oh my goodness - I had forgotten about Huw and Lenny (how could I? ). That would be good, but I agree with TheSarge - I'm not sure they would work in EE as it is now.

Huw left with some girlfriend or other to be an Artist but can't remember what happened to Lenny (I think he decised it wasn't worth staying in Walford without Huw or maybe after the Di Marco's left or something?).

the actor who played Huw is currently in the advert (can't remember what for) where he laughs at the holiday pictures and shouts out "look at the fella in the background - he's got MANboobs!" and ending with the line "that's nothing, 'er mother's a proper gomper"

Classy

I liked him too

I can't see why they can't get a group of post-grads into the show to liven it up and get a few heart throbs in there. If they had a big influx of young charcters at once, if they fail, they can pick them off one by one until there left with a more desirable mix. It wouldn't hurt to have a couple of them actually living on the square and the rest just being friends who live nearby.
That's what Eastenders don't seem to understand at the moment. It's better to get rid of something that's really not working than to keep it outstaying it's welcome. If you've done your best to iron out the kinks and there's still nothing left to do, get rid.

I agree! That would be great for the show. They could get some real live wires, genuinely funny characters and people like that. There's loads of talented young actors out there.

It was Binnie (no character profile for her though).

You're so right. I'd love to see something like that - it would probably keep me watching. The thought of Peggy, Phil and Grant coming back is awful, and I'm seriously considering giving up on EE unless it improves a lot more in the near future.

I'm split on this one. I HATED Huw with a passion but liked Lennie. Imo, he was a really unerused character who could have definitely done with better storylines.

Does anyone remember the storyline where Bianca had a one night stand with Lennie whilst with Ricky and it was rumoured she would give birth to a mixed race baby?

Yeah that was good I thought. Quite an interesting storyline.

Huw left with his new girlfriend, like's been said, and Lenny left after Saskia's body had been found or something because he didn't think it was a good idea to stick around. I can't remember for sure.

Yes that is right he left in the early summer of 1999.

I hated the pair o them and was pleased Matthew Robinson axed them both although Huw's girlfriend (who was also Sarah Hill's bestfriend was brill she should have stayed).
