Because Three do not have an other mast that can send signal to the house. That one is the nearest. Trust me man I travel around that area and I am sure there is no other mast that have Three 4G800. The other mast is about 10 miles but it does not have 4G at all.

Threes 4G800 can travel upto and beyond 20 miles on full power, which is what it is transmitting at!

So why in that room only VO2 have but not Three. Everywhere in the house is one bar 4G800 on Three and 2 3 bars VO2 3G900 but when I go in to that room only VO2 have 1 bar 3G900 or 2 bars E. Three-NO SERVICE Get the signal from one mast in Woodcote where is EE,VO2 and Three

As I've said, it's perfectly possible the coverage from the Three mast just doesn't happen to reach that room.

If could also be the placement of the transmitters on the mast if indeed the mast is broadcasting 900MHz from O2, Vodafone - and Three on 800MHz - although I think if that was the case the Three signal would be more robust than O2/VF, not less so.

Your 3 800 is most likely not coming from that mast. It's probably a big one on a hill, far away. 3 maybe has 3G on that mast at 2100 which would not penetrate.....well....er....much.

Did you happen to be shoved onto 2G? I doubt that Facetime would work on 2G! Either that, or the 3G was heavily congested, i.e. less than 1Mbps.

Doubt that 4G would get that congested!

Next time you are there try to check the Band you are on. I assume you've got an iPhone because you mentioned FaceTime. Try *3001#12345#* and then the call button on your dialler.
and go into Service Cell. Check the Band number.
Band 7 = 2600 MHz
Band 20 = 800 MHz

If you were on Band 20, it is only logical to experience low speeds as the area would have been very congested on a Saturday. I am not saying that this is acceptable though.

I don't know if they have implemented carrier aggregation there and I am not sure how you can check that on an iPhone. I doubt they have though as you experienced low speeds.

All that, on the assumption that the other person you were talking too was in a high speed stable connection.

Come visit Brighton during a weekend, weekday lunchtime or end of business day and you will see how this is very possible

It's always congested in central London, other then very early of a morning or late at night.

I work right by London Bridge and i've just done a speed test with O2..

Ping : 33ms
Down : 1.12Mbps
Up : 2.62Mbps

You dont get much better with Three either.

Was showing a mixture of 3G and 4G....depending on what side of the river I was

But either way it wouldn't connect to a FaceTime call !!!!

Was that on 4G? If so, that is majorly congested and you might have had better luck on 3G! As most phones that are 4G compatible tend to pick 4G first, followed by 3G, followed by 2G.

Yes it is on 4G and thanks for the lesson there but i do know the odd thing or two about mobile phones and how they work.

As for even trying O2 3G, i wouldn't even bother.

Also strangely enough that when making phone calls on 3G, the data connection would drop, despite the fact that I have full dots of 3G signal on my phone. When I called the tech support, I was told that it's an iOS thing, that iPhone will stop data connection to prioritise voice. What a lot of bollocks ....

Got my crippled Lg G4 back from repair this week, it's now on Android 6.0 marshmallow, turns out the service menu code has now changed from 277634 to something so long my cluttered mind can't remember it yet.
Sadly they also seemed to have nobbled the LTE band select as although it's still there when you try and select a band, you now get a failed message

Oh okay, it's just that on some masts/networks, you can sometimes get a better result on 3G instead. I know that is certainly true on Three at Leicester City center.

Oh yeah, I remember now, O2 3G isn't that great is it? I know that Giffgaff is on the very bottom of the priority list but GG 3G only does half a meg in my area

I was at the NEC in Birmingham today. Being based in Glasgow, today at the NEC was the first time I have been on 2600 band 7. Speediest below at a busy NEC.

That bodes well for me when i'm there for The Gadget Show in a months time, considering last year on Three it was mostly 3G that was slow and some 4G on 1 side of the hall. Will be better this year with Voda, which is something i never thought I'd say.

Yes in any built up area Voda has leapfrogged Three, and given the speed of rollout in another 18 months rural areas will be quite dramatically changed. Its amazing.

Let's hope so. Still sticking doggedly to towns down here in Devon but to be fair there is a lot going live all the time. But nothing really rural and once bitten.......

I'm sure it won't be the same as 3G but let's just say that many of us rural folk will need to see it to believe it and very welcome it will be. Hopefully this side of winter 2016.

Random I know but, is anyone else having issues with the Vodafone app or online account, I can not access anything to do with usage. I upgraded Friday could this be because of this? Surprise surprise Vodafone claim all is just perfect with my account.

I had this and they'd put me on as a small business user, which means the app won't work and logging in via the web has limited info (like data left etc).

It was fixed for me in a store but you could do it over the phone or an online chat.

That's why I went to a local store, although I hear mixed stories about how much access to accounts staff have these days. Or, how easy it is, which might lead some people to tell you they can't do something when they mean they don't want to/know how to.
