It's ok for making calls, but on my iPhone if it's on and someone rings you have to unlock the phone then open the app before you can answer the call so you can't always get there in time.
The most annoying thing though is texts ending up in the app and not your normal messages if you have no mobile signal, or in both and getting two notifications when you do.
